I am sitting in this corner, alone, with no one beside me. The only living beings that just HAD to be near me are the unimportant beings, the ones that have no impact on my life whatsoever. They look like blobs from my perspective. They’re not important to me. Well, that’s what I thought until IT happened.
I was walking past a big group of people, guys, to be exact. They were staring at me and I was tempted to throw something at them. They started whispering something to one another, at the same time, staring at me like they were about to do something stupid. I kept walking but felt an unearthly presence behind me. I stopped, breathed in deeply and turned around slowly. What I saw almost made my eyes melt. I could almost feel my eyes detaching from the veins inside my head.
He was like a God. Well, he wasn’t really. He was just so awesome and I could feel some type of aura wafting from his skin. It was a very strange aura. It was like a yellow banana, but at the same time, black like death. I stared into his eyes and for the first time in a long time, I saw myself. He smiled at me and at that moment, I don’t know what happened. His smile was like a drug, an anesthetic, swimming through my veins. I closed my eyes and saw nothing but black.
I woke up in a strange place. I didn’t know where I was. The place seemed so familiar but I just couldn’t scrape the answer off my tongue. I looked around the room to find a glass table next to the door. I didn't know where it would lead me, so I stayed sitting in my little spot on the fluffy bed.
I looked back over to the table and noticed the box, still sitting quietly on the table. I kept thinking it was going to ask me if I wanted to leave, but then I remembered the most obvious answer to that thought. I quietly laughed at myself and decided to get off the bed. What's in that box? I thought. I walked towards it and looked at it carefully. I studied it closely and reached my hand toward the opening. My breath filled the room, making it feel as if the walls were closing in on me. I opened the top of the box and looked inside. "What the?"
Fruit snacks! Fruit snacks? My eyes widened as I quickly grabbed one of the colorful, wonderful treats. Not even thinking about poison or drugs, I placed the chewy piece in my mouth. It felt so good, so sweet, so chewy! I returned to the bed, still trying to get the chewy residue off of my teeth. Sitting down, I heard a noise. At first, I thought it was me, plopping down on the black comforter, but then I noticed more sounds coming from outside the door. I hid under the covers, knowing that whatever came through that door would know there's a human underneath the blankets.
