It was only a dream, she continued to tell herself. Nothing more nothing less, only what was in between. Linyt was starting to remember where she was. In her bed, in her room, in her hall, in her wing, in her school. She tried to move but had forgotten how to walk, her window was nearby, opened just a crack, so it wouldn’t get too hot at night. She hadn’t changed out of her uniform, and had sweated through it thoroughly. Crickets chirped with their cacophonous yet melodious love song. She was safe, and alive, and awake. She got up and looked out of the window, the moon shone brightly, almost matching the power of the sun. She tried to remember what she just had a dream of… but couldn’t. Finally, she walked back to bed. She sat down, and slowly let gravity pull her down sideways, landing her neatly on the bed. She readjusted the covers, still hot and wet, and she pushed them away, choosing instead to cool off. She closed her eyes, at first afraid of an unknown fear, then slowly, she let herself be taken away, finding comfort in the darkness of her next dream.
