She woke up, and looked around. She was still in the unforgiving cave. She felt someone nearby. It wasn’t Zangul, it was… someone dead.
“I thought he drowned you Kell.”
“He didn’t check if I was dead, I had a special seed in my mouth that absorbed all that water. Playing dead is easy when you can mimic a plant. His cheating made him stupid.”
“How long have I been out?” Linyt asked, there was a sudden soreness in her throat.
“About ten seconds. There’s a seed in your gut that’s fueling you for a while. Just ignore the pain and let’s get through this.”
“…sorry about… letting you drown.”
“No, no, no. I’m sorry for trying to kill you in the most, slow, and painful way I possibly could.”
Linyt wasn’t too enthused about that comment, but she decided to let that feeling drop. She got up, making sure her clothes were on, and they were. They both stood up, and Linyt led them towards the exit. As they made it, they came across a wall. A barrier like an amoeba, stretched across the exit, a blue uniform was lying next to it. She couldn’t see what was on the other side.
“These are Zangul’s, see the blood?” He bent over to reach for them, and suddenly, he was gone, leaving behind only his clothes.
