They were at a three way fork, and decided to split up, no matter how many times Trit shouted, “Don’t split the party.” They knew that the first part of teamwork was individual judgment, and that this was part of the test, they would be brought back together soon enough. Linyt felt that the middle passage was beckoning for her and she went down it merrily. She walked along, feeling her way through, though she didn’t touch the walls, she could feel what the darkness felt, giving her bat like radar. Every little stalagmite and stalactite, pebble, rock, wall, hole, and piece of dust, she could feel. She walked along until she felt the small passageway open up, and sensed two living things nearby. She recognized them, as being class mates, but not on her team. It was a dirty trick; they were having the teams fight each other in the dark.
But Linyt wouldn’t be dissuaded; she walked along quietly and whispered “Acerbus Impetus.”
Suddenly, she heard what could only be described as the sound someone would make when beaten up in an alleyway. She walked through, content with the darkness beating on them. If it didn’t finish the job, then the noise would attract someone else to them.
