The humans woke up the next day to a horrible scream. It had been four months since the Lost Children had moved into the settlement to protect them from the more aggressive creatures on the planet. The humans ran from their shacks and ran to the one that had been covered in blood. There wasa hole from underground that had come up and into the home. The leader of the Children sighed and went to the leader of the humans "This will continue unless you move your settlement some place higher and sturdier" she said, but he shook his head.

It had taken them months to find this spot, let alone begin construction and this girl wanted them to move again? He began to doubt this girl "No way. We need to stay here. We have our defensive barrier finally up and a deep trench around our settlement. All we need to do is put metal in the bottom of out homes and we'll be fine" he said as his final decision, and the girl took a step back, just shaking her head silently.

They took the steps of putting metal flooring in the homes of every settler ad that made them feel a lot safer, but feeling safer didn't always mean that they were safe from the dangers from below or above. The Lost Children had totems inside of their homes and incents that smelled terrible to the creatures that hunted the humans and them, but the Lost Children found them comforting in times of need. The children tried to get the humans to use them, but they rejects their ways. They found them to a more waste of time to them than anything so they mostly ignored the plees of the children until they found more people missing with holes through the metal floors. They no longer felt safe and took to set up the totems and scent sticks to ward off whatever the hell was stealing their friends and relatives.
