I stand corrected! There is still the ever driving need to attempt painstaking and dangerous combos against generals, perhaps even more than before! The stat increasing items dropped by generals work on a system based on 3 things, Difficulty level, Largest/Number of combos (5+) performed by your character on them, and Their morale. Through these 3 they determine how potent the item dropped will be. For example;
Easy, regular general, 5-10 hit combo= Defense +1, Attack +1, Musou +10.
Easy High Morale General, 5-10 hit combo = Defense +2, Atack +2, Life +10, Musou +10
Normal Regular general, 5-10 hit combo = Defense +2, Attack +2, Life +10, Weapon, or Item varying on personal connection with general and/or level being played.
Normal high Morale General = 10-15 hit combo = Attack +4, Defense +4, Life +30, Musou +30, lvl 3 Weapon, lvl 5-10 item.
so on and so forth. The numbers are rough based loosely off the trends I saw, but you get the idea. 21+ combos will score you +8's from High Morale generals, and +4's from regular generals on normal once you get past stage 3. Anyways Zhang He is even more awesome in the new game, his story is nice too he makes people pose xd .
