So, how was prom night? XD
Well, it was friday night that prom was held... and I'm just now really getting down to getting that damned hairstyle out and it's hard. I mean... just difficult. >_< But I got what I'm hoping are ALL of the bobby pins out of my hair (literally) and I even managed to tear out a hair band that I hadn't even realized was in there. Now to really get it all out and wash my hair... because of this french manicure I have, it's particularly slow goings, and it's of course a little harder to type as well when my fingertips are experiencing some minor shocks of pain everytime I press on a key in the wrong way, causing the nail to pull back a bit... and it hurts in a really, really annoying way... -_-;
But... prom was fun overall. I wish they hadn't played ONLY hiphop/crunk and Reggaeton all ******** night, especially when I made several requests to the dj for a change in music (specifically to Trance... I know, but it was that or nothing else, really!! I needed some ******** DANCE music with either no lyrics or lyrics that didn't get on my nerves to the tenth degree!), but otherwise things went a lot better than expected on several fronts.
I saw a lot of people there that I knew either by acquaintance, by association, or in passing.... a LOT of people... I think I could have probably pointed out every face I recognized and it would have added up to half the numbers of total attendees. As for the names attached to those faces, I might have been able to manage half, maybe a little less, maybe a little more...
In spite of the mostly awful music, I did dance a little bit, but it was hard to move in those heels: They were very thin and it felt like the heels were very closely put on the INSIDE of the foot, which made balancing on these heels so I didn't stumble a very tricky little game, especially as I had donned a very... thick... dress.
I sat at a table just outside the ball room where some people I was very familiar with (including some friends, some older friends, and former classmates that are now just peers, like my good friend Chris, who didn't seem to me to be having the very best of times, as I knew he had a girlfriend, but she wasn't there with him. I took a picture with him as well as a few other good friends, and he said "Thanks Paula..." I'm not sure what there was to be thankful or grateful about, as it was a picture, but it made me happy nonetheless, especially if I somehow managed to add to the better aspects of his night in some form or another. Any time, Chris. n_n)
had also sat down. I even ran into Anna. X3 She'd taken Jamahl as her date! O.O Supriiiiised I waaas, but I had hoped to see him, and I was really surprised that Anna was there at all (Happy, mind you. Friiiiiieeeend.... X3).
A lot of the people there I knew commented on the dress or on me. "What a pretty dress!" "You look so pretty!" and a sheepish 'Thank ya!" to all who complimented me. *sweatdrop*
I have to say, though, the comment that still makes me smile the most had to have come from a guy I knew... a senior like myself... I can't think of how I know him or his face, despite not remembering or really knowing his name... he had short dark brown hair and light eyes, but I can't remember if they were blue or brown...
Towards the very end of the Prom, he came over from the other side of the table and out of the corner of the room, and sort of leaning over the chair in front of me he finally spoke: "I couldn't even recognize you-you look amazing! It's just... you look so different, cause you know at school, and you're... but now..."
And I laughed because it seemed that my appearance had really thrown him off, but I was also very grateful for the compliment.
"You look so different! But it's nice! It looks good!"
"Aww, thanks man!" ^-^
Christina, of course, in her pretty white and gold gown with her date-a guy she used to crush on for a while. (I was so happy to see them interacting so well. X3) Tiffany sort of partied elsewhere. o.o; but I hope she had a lot of fun as well!!
I didn't remember seeing Marike there, but I did see Steve-o and hugged him as such. X3
Matt!! Yeah, Ing was there tooo! I had to give him a hug. X3
And duuuude... Mak was there... that was funny. XD I had to give him a hug for old time's sake. I don't know whose date he was, but that person had a hell of a sense of humor to take Mak to their senior prom because Mak graduated like a year to two years ago. XD
So yeah, it was a night full of familiar faces, fun conversation, with the occasional fun dance... and I have to say, the limo ride to and from the dance are an experience I won't soon forget. n_n;
Rock on, class of '06!! ^o^
Friday night was awesome...
