God I've had such a miserable day today. Let me start by saying we have three pet ducks and they've been known to break out of the yard. Well, I was just about to leave for work this morning, I was opening the gate, and further up the road I see a black small figure and a white small figure lying on it. Only when I drove by were my thoughts confirmed. The black duck and the white duck had somehow gotten out that night and they'd been hit by the car. And there they lay, dead in the middle of the road. I was already running late for work so I sadly had to leave them there. I didn't feel anything at all until I called home on my cell to let them know what happened. Then I totally broke down into tears. I cried the whole way to work. When i got there I had to sit in my car for a few minutes to compose myself. When i went inside, i thought i was going to be fine. But then Megean asked me what was wrong and I just totally lost it again. So all day I was on the edge of having multiple emotional breakdowns. After lunch I was fine until i got home and mom started talking about it.
Now brown duck's the only one left and she's going to be so lonely now. All three have been together since birth. We got them March of '05 as easter presents. They would wander around the yard all day looking for bugs. They were always fun to have around.
Mom says we can get a new duck this week that way Brown duck doesn't have to be alone. I don't think she realizes they're gone yet cause she spends most of her time on her nest.
But that's enough of my ranting. I'll try to post pics of the ducks later.
