I was in the backyard looking at the night sky, when a shooting star landed right in front of me. When I walked near the star, it was as if the world disappeared. Everything around me turned dark and the star began to hover at eye level. As I looked into the jewel-like star, I began to see my dreams. Then one dream stood apart, and what was a star began to look more like a mirror. Then I saw myself right in front of me, and I said "Tsuyaru?" but the girl in the mirror did not answer. She seemed as puzzled as I was. As I reached my hand out to touch the mirror, so did she. When our fingers touched, I felt a slight shock, though I moved my hand away slowly, still wondering what was going on.
At this time, I had forgotten that I was looking at a star and even the fact that I was supposed to be standing in my backyard. I looked at my hand still wondering about the shock. Then I looked up to see that the mirror was gone!
As I still stand puzzled, I begin to hear the sound of trotting horses and men's voices coming near me. I realized that I was standing on a grassy road, one that obviously does not see modern-day traffic, and then I saw the men on horses come riding up and surround me. These men were very loud and some of them seemed drunk. I was still confused and not even scared until some of the men got off of their horses and grabbed me. When I realized that I wasn't dreaming, and that these men were going to hurt me, I panicked and screamed as I struggled trying to get away.
Suddenly I heard men yelling, but before I could see what was happening, I felt an immense amount of pain in my back and chest. A pain like non I had ever felt before. And yet, it only lasted a moment and then everything went numb and my vision faded to black. Everything turned quiet...
After what seemed like moments in the dark, I began to open my eyes, only to realize that I was being held up with a gentle hand. When my eyes were finally open, I saw the face of a man with soft eyes and silver hair. Then I heard an impish voice speaking in an irritated manner, but neither I or the man holding me paid any attention to the impish voice.
I couldn't remember what had happened, and I couldn't remember anything from before I touched the mirror, but for some reason, I felt like I knew who the man and the imp were. When I looked into his eyes, I said "Sesshoumaru?" then I looked at the imp, who was still babbling on about something, and I said "Jaken?" Then I heard the man's soft yet strong voice as he asked "have we met?" I looked at him confused and said "I... I don't remember."
After a moment, the voice of the imp gets this serious yet sarcastic tone, as it directly speaks to me saying "You should be grateful and show some respect. It's not every day that lord-Sesshoumaru saves a pitiful human such as yourself." I then look back at Sesshoumaru and asked "What happened?" but the imp quickly responds saying "You were dead, that's what happened. And lord-Sesshoumaru revived you with his Tensaiga." Sesshoumaru then took his hand away as I began to sit up on my own, then he stood up and began to walk down the road to the south. I looked down at the ground as I was still sitting, and I saw all of the men who had attacked me were dead. Though I didn't remember being attacked, I had realized that I had been killed, and so it made some sense to me.
As I looked around me, I noticed a jewel necklace sitting on the ground next to me. As I reached to pick it up, I heard Sesshoumaru, who had apparently stopped on the road still in sight, say "Come if you wish." though I didn't even look up at him until after I had picked up the jewel and looked into it. Then I looked up at Sesshoumaru standing on the road, half turned my way looking at me as though he knew or expected me to come with him... so I did. I put the jewel necklace on, stood up and ran to his side.
