Heart's Ember
Sober now I'm in this flood
Water red as if from blood
Instead I wade in rivers of wine
I dare not sip I dare not dine
To drink would cease my devotion
Still I am from reckless emotion
A gift I bear for my Goddess
I'll guard it then until the harvest
My love is what I bundle close
Staving off my past wraiths morose
Waiting here I'll become statuesque
If you forget me here I'll keep it to my breast
No tears for I'm strong for my goal
My gift an eternal ember for this Earth's black coal
...who will you be dreaming of?
