Rarer Than Rare
Only one thing adorns my mind so late on this sleepless night
Someone in my heart so deep certain words don't seem so right
You told me the evening before a friend compared you to a jewel
Now these words never left my lips, but please know this, he is a fool
I'm not doubting the strength of what he feels or trying to test his mettle
To keep it simply put, in this simple rhyme, your beyond a precious metal
For I've seen gold and many a jewel grace the hands of many fingers
On many wrists and many necks I've caught glints, but my eye does not linger
The stars they shine so bright, yet even the brightest doesn't catch my eye
For there are many stars and they all shine so why should the rest I deny
Yes it's true there are many women too, still hear the rest of this story
In my sea of blue, I only see you, and this is a much greater glory
You are no flower so I will not compare you to the beauty of a rose
You are no star though bright you are, so I dare not say that you glow
Your eyes are the color of sapphire, still I shall not call you my gem
There's only one you, one spot on my heart, from which my love does stem
Centuries man has spoke still I have no word for something like you so rare
Just this love I keep, and the special way I weep, for wishing you were there
And when you are, though I try hard, the word for you I still can't find
So please accept these words for now: I love you, until the end of time.
Angels never weep while demons sleep
...but only the brave dare answer the call.
