My brother finally got back last night. He was in basic National Guard training and ended up injuring his hip. I'm so happy to see him again, though. I missed him terribly.

I didn't know he'd hurt himself until one day when I saw a letter from him sitting on the dining room table. He'd had to get surgery on it. :[

He said in the airport on the way home, everyone was all "Thank you so much for serving our country" and stuff like that.

Me: You in the army stuff is enough, but add in the limp, and....everyone must have been all...
Beto: Yeah. They looked at me and they were like "oh, the poor guy came back from Afghanistan or Iraq and he got shot in the a**".

Yeah. He said that people wanted to give him free stuff.

Well, he graduates. He made it through basic training, and he's got a bunch of shirts and hoodies to prove it. I get a T-shirt. And a few other things that I actually won't mind wearing, as not happy with any form of military I am.

The power went out twice last night and it sucked. Also, Neon Rock.

Note: My brother did not ACTUALLY get shot in the a**. He was simply voicing what people must've been thinking...or possibly what some of them may have been saying when they saw him limping.
