Chapter Three
Friendly Strangers
Friendly Strangers
For several days, Kat drifted from one town to the next, making sure she hid herself under her black cloak, in case people from her old town were around visiting...
She made sure the knife she made was sharp and safe inside of her cloak as well...
Traveling down the road once again, with a newly acquired cart from a friendly salesman, Kat suddenly felt like she was being watched. She stopped her cart and looked around.
There was nothing there.
Kat hitched up her cart again when all of a sudden one of her cooking knives fell off the back of it, followed by a loud "OWWWWIEEEEE!!!"(And some very "colorful" wording, too...)
"What the hell?" Kat shouted and ran over to discover a boy whimpering over his bloody hand. "Who are you!?"
The stranger blinked up at Kat with his big, brown eyes, as if noticing for the first time who he had been following. He carried a massive, black, rectangular backpack, and wore what Kat called "modern city-folk attire."
"The name's Blake," he smiled, flipping his dirty-blonde faux-hawk back into place, "short for Blakerd Lewis Kingston Wentz - the third."
"Well that's a mouthful," Kat joked as she offered her hand to lift him up, "I'm Kat - short for Kathryn, I guess."
In her mind Kat wanted to hit herself in the head - hard. Why the hell was she being so open and friendly to someone who had secretly been FOLLOWING her!?! But outside of her mind all Kat could do was smile and bandage up the stranger's sliced hand. Something about his big toothy grin made her trust him.
As soon as Blake was standing up straight, he put one of his arms - which were full of tatoos - around Kat and asked, "So 'Kat' - tell me 'bout yourself."
Kat smiled shyly and began her story as they hitched up the cart and walked off into the already setting sun.
-->Insert Ash Ketchum's "laughing and waving at sunset." XDD<--
