As you may or may not know, the last episode of Death Note came out a week or two ago. And, as you probably don't know, I finally finished watching Death Note last night. I skipped the last part of 34, and all of 35 because 34 screwed up halfway through and I was too lazeh to download 35. Those are the two no one should miss, amirite? MELODIES and MATTSHOT, and I HAD to miss it! Oh well, I'll get around to watching it one of these days.
As for the ending, I guess it was true to the manga. I can say that even if I haven't read the manga. Because I'm an American. Anyway, Near wins. This seems a bit unfair to me. Near wins in the manga, ok. L wins in the live action movies, still ok. But I think Kira should win once! gonk I guess by now you know which side I'm on here. I knew how the manga ended, but I had tried to stay away from spoilers about the last episode (FISSION MAILED), so there was that glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, Madhouse or whoever would decide to give us Kira fans a little love. =_= But nooooo, Light just has to die.
Nothing, nothing I have watched has made me as tense as the last episode of Death Note. I swear, my stomach was in all kinds of crazy knots as I tried to see what was going to happen. Near's a cute little kid (or midget, or genetically enhanced superhuman, or whatever), but he's friggin' creepy. Even his adorable little kid smile is creepy. It curves in almost a C shape and gives him this "YOU CANNOT DEFEAT ME" kind of thing. This does not stop me from having a picture folder devoted to him. :3
Oh yeah, the plot. Near knew Light was Kira all along, he just needed evidence that other people would believe. I think the reason he caught Light was because he acted on the belief that Light=Kira, and didn't even consider other possibilities. Then, when he revealed Light as Kira to everyone, as Light was trying to talk his way out of it, then he pulled out the part of the Note, and Matsuda shot him, and eeeeee it was really exciting. Then, at the end, they start playing this hopeful music. It should have been more melancholy, I think. But the sequence still got to me. This was sadder than LADIES, and I liked L better than Light by a long shot. He was laying on the steps, then had this hallucination of L, then he closed his eeeeyyyyyeeeessss BAWWWWW Great. I'm depressed again. I got over it before, I can do it again. . . .

A few random questions that don't really need to be answered.
1. What nationalities are Near and Mello? Judging by Near's name being Nate River (*snicker*), and the fact that he calls everyone "MEESTA <insertnamehere>", I'd say he's British or American, but which? And since Mello's name is Mihael Keehl or whatever, he's probably...Russian? German? Dunno, lol. (DID U NOE: Matt's real name is Mail Jeevus. HAHAHA! That's almost as funny as Nate River. lol )
2. What's up with Mikami's death? He stabs himself with something, presumably his pen, then like 40 cubic square football fields of blood and entrails come spewing out of him. Is that even possible?
3. How did Mikami keep such an awesome hairstyle through all this? Is MIKAMIHAIR(tm) the product of his insanity?
4. Why is dying Light more moe than Kira Light and I'M NOT KIRA U HAV 2 BELEEV ME Light combined?
5. Did you know I'm coming up with these questions off the top of my head? Yup, I am.
6. Did it ever occur to any of the girls Light has pimped that he just might be using them? He's not all that attractive. I guess in a nerd way he is. But come on, he had like 5 girlfriends at a time!
DONE. ALL DONE.
