Okay...I'm going to make this as short as possible. Nobody reads these anyways, but I may as well announce that anywho.
The other night, we were going to Chik-fil-a (best place in the world!) and it was like 7:00 at night. Well, there was a lady out by the drive-thru begging for money, and nobody was giving her any. As we walked by, she saw us and asked if we had any change.
South Texas isn't the coldest place in the world, but anything below 80 might as well be freezing for us, and it was almost 50 that night, and the lady was wearing a tank top and an old jean jacket. She must have been freezing.
Anyway, we told her we didn't have any change, but that we'd buy her dinner. We told her she could get whatever she wanted, but she kept on making sure and saying everything was too expensive. Can you imagine thinking a $1.99 sandwich is too much money?
We got her food, and since she had missed her bus, she asked if we would drive her home. We drove around town for about 30 minutes, her food getting cold, when she said just drop her off at the next Whataburger (Texas food joint--don't ask).
When she got out, Miss Joyce turned around and thanked us with so much gratitude--in all, I think we gave her like $25, and she thought it was so much. As she walked away, I gave her my necklace, a little Jesus fish charm on a silver chain, and told her to know that Jesus loves her and that he'd keep her safe no matter what.
So anyway, I guess what the point of that was, was maybe that was Jesus himself we helped last Friday night. Who knows? But at least Joyce knows He loves her now.
