Many of you have probably heard of the Westborough Baptist Church, the group that goes around saying God hates gays and He loves dead soldiers. Well, they were supposed to protest in front of our base yesterday. They didn't show, which I'm really thankful for, but just the nerve of them getting everyone riled up and scaring people!
It especially hurts me when people like that say things about dead soldiers, because both my dad and aunt are going to Iraq this year to help people like those protestors. It hurts my feelings when they say that God wants my dad dead.
Also, to go around parading as a Baptist Church!! I myslef am a Baptist, and I would never say things like that about anyone.
But at the same time, it really brought people together, thinking that protestors were goign to be here. They all stood in front of the base and sang songs and held American flags, and it made me feel good, because those are the people my dad and aunt are fighting for, and those are the people who aren't afraid to show thy're thankfulness.
