“We’re being watched…” A small rock fell from the top of the cliff and the Fallens all looked up in the direction it had descended from. They leapt from their feet and readied their weapons in defensive form. Each breathe they let out made mist in the frosty air as they looked from side to side trying to comprehend how many of the opposed there were and where they would attack from. Joyce held an ax while Chan used small throwing weapons and at times the Sword of Azraiand. Shade only used a simple staff and Liz used a beautiful scythe embroidered with beautiful jewelry. Suddenly an arrow shot from the air and landed close to the group of Fallens. Ron released the blades strapped to his arms with a snap. Chan yelled “Over there!” in the direction the arrow came from and suddenly a flurry of arrows flew through the air in a frenzy that started with light whipping sounds that increased. The Fallens blocked the attacks with their weapons and waited until the arrows died out. The enemy showed themselves. There were seventeen men; they outnumbered the small group by twelve. “Give us all your money and treasures. Then maybe we will let you go unharmed,” they grinned. Liz spoke up to them, “Heh, as if we would ever listen to you, we can take you out in less than two minutes!” Liz seemed to get really cocky when it came to fighting others and was very competitive.
“Oh? Then you want it the hard way, eh? You think you can take us out?? Okay kiddies! We warn you, we can be real brutes.”
Liz and Shade grinned and Liz replied, “Try us.” The attackers moved in quickly but the Fallens were a whole step ahead of them. Joyce charged towards them with her axe in hand as she swung at them. Her axe was thrown away from her by one of the men but she ducked his attack and tripped him, he fell to the ground and hit his head on a rock causing him to lose momentary consciousness. Ron moved gracefully with his weapons attached to his arms. He extended his arms and swiveled on his feet, moving quickly and making unpredictable movements as he attacked. He never liked fighting but when a fight came around he knew he couldn’t stop it from happening. He slashed one man in the stomach on his right, and then stabbed the next person with his left hand, and with his sword still in them he turned around and slashed another attacker with his right. He pulled his blade out of the man in this left blade to block another attack and kicked the person he blocked away. Two more men came at him and he swiveled on his feet as he moved quickly slashing them both. One more man charged at him from the front. Ron leap-frogged over him, turned around quickly and stabbed him in the back. He turned to look at Joyce and make sure she was doing alright. He found her tripping the man and his head hitting the rock. She then took two daggers from her ankles, leapt forward and slashed one man’s leg and came up to gash another in the throat. Joyce did not notice the man she tripped had come back to consciousness and was right behind her and was about to kill her with a sharp sword. Suddenly Ron came up between her and the man and blocked the attack with his arm weapons. Joyce looked over her shoulder to find Ron right behind her, with his weapon meeting the man’s, “Ron!” she exclaimed. Ron twisted the man’s sword out of his hands and threw it out of the man range. The man flinched and Ron quickly slashed his throat with a cross motion with his arm blades. The man fell to the ground and was now dead. Joyce looked at Ron, his white blouse full of blood and dirt. “Thank you Ron!” he smiled at her and said, “I would do anything for you, Joyce. I will always have your back.” Liz was on her own as she always preferred to fight this way. She used her scythe in spinning motions. She spun her body around extending her scythe’s blade to whoever came into her area of reach. She gashed one man in the stomach and then as she spun she lifted her scythe to cut another man in the temple. Although she only carried a scythe, she was fierce and unpredictable with it. She was merciless. She was as she always had been. Shade took the job of killing to easy. It was a natural skill to him in which it took only little effort on his part and he put everyone else in the group to shame when he fought. It was as if all he ever did was take a step to dodge and hit them without it even being noticeable to the regular observer. Chan was off fighting a few people herself. She leapt into the air as high as she could and flung her throwing stars down to the moving bodies of her enemies. She somersaulted as she landed on the ground, grabbed her daggers, and twisted her crouching body around to block another attack. She moved to his back and stabbed him quickly and swiftly. She checked to see how everyone else was doing and noticed Ron saving Joyce from the unpredictable attack. A man suddenly came up behind her and she tried to duck to dodge him but she knew it was too late and that she was a goner for sure. She winced, thinking that she would be hit, but she didn’t feel anything, no impact, no tearing, she only heard a thump and that was it. She turned her head to see Shade standing tall and looking down at her. He had knocked the man on the head and killed him. He held his staff tight in his hanging hand, “You should really pay more attention.”
