I like lesbians.

This is not for the whole lesbian porn thing, since I don't watch lesbian porn in any case.

No, I like lesbians. It's a funny thing. I don't actually know very many, really. Just a small handful. Of course, I may know some lesbians without knowing that they are lesbians, but... you get the idea, right? So the lesbians I know and whom I know are lesbians, they're nice people. Outright lovely people in fact. They make very good company and are all intellectuals, although that may have more to do with the fact that I live in a town full of intellectuals (this is a college town).

But also I like lesbians as a class of people. I like to know for absolutely sure that I'm not being evaluated as a potential date. It's a bit silly, but... that's how it is. I like the lack of sexual tension. What can I say? I'm too shy and maybe a little too paranoid to effectively deal in the presence of people who might, just might be watching me to see how I measure up against some internal yardstick, other than with respect to looks (which I can't change, mostly) or intelligence (which I have a lot of, for better or worse).
