The world always mourns when we lose "good men". Although I tend to find the definition of a "good man" sorely lacking. We recently lost another man who few would define as "good". His actions would leave much to be desired upon reflection of saints. However, it's not his actions that I mourn. It's not how many lives he saved, or how many charities he donated to. I mourn the passing of a man whom I respect through words alone. His creation of "gonzo journalism". His fury and energy and seemingly endless array of humor and wit and inconcievable life. He possesed a quality with words and language that I will never posses and can only shallowly imitate. I can only mark his passing, and wish him well on his newest adventure. To see what lies on the other side of this new edge. Farewell, mister Thompson. The world has lost another good man.
