A Starving Artist's Adventures in Gaia
Nuime's journal of mindless ramblings regarding life in Gaia, the General Discussion, and zombie butterflies from the planet X
Bandwagon :D
From Jackobo's journal...been meaning to write to one of these, just haven't found the subjects to be all that inspiring so far.
Anyway, without further ado:

The Weekly Writer: Relaxing and Recharging (Week 3)
How do you replenish or recharge after an exhausting emotional situation?

When I find myself in this type of situation I basically take a massive time out all to myself. I'll just take a bath or sit in bed and watch a movie that I've seen tons of times before (The Ghostbusters are usually good candidates). I basically take some time to myself and do as little as possible, just letting myself take everything in and get relaxed.

I don't end it there though. After my time alone I'll usually go out with a friend or two and just do...something. It might be as simple as get a cup of coffee and take a drive through Hollywood or I might head over to their place and resume the movie-watching. I feel the time I spend with a friend is an important moment, it gets me back into connection with the "real world" and prevents me from letting my simple "time out" become an all out self-loathe fest.

Time with friends is a very powerful way to destress I'm finding as I read other people's journals. 3nodding It also, as you said, helps keep the relaxing from turning into complete solitude.
