someone else is dying! gonk
WHAT A DAY!
... or dream, technically...
Seriously, it should be illegal for dreams to be that bad.... What's more... it was all psychological... there wasn't a lot of visual fear, I guess.... but I'll write out what I remember of the dream here... ~~~~ It was really a lot of dreams in one... the earliest had a couple in a car going into a forest and disappearing. After that, there was a strange dream wherein you had to avoid the bulls and the crocodiles from beating you before you got to your hammer and the door (a pixelated game style, I admit)
Many odd dreams later, a couple is standing near each other at a kitchen table, when suddenly, a strange chime rings out. The woman and the man both stomp their feet once: first their right, then the left. This is crucial, because suddenly the lights are not as dim as when that single chime rang. A girl comes to visit them (I think it's me, but it doesn't look like me!) and as soon as she comes, a chime rings out, and the light dim once more. The girl sees the couple stomp with each foot, and so she does the same, but she stomps her right foot twice, and her left foot once. The woman comes to her, with a gently face, and gently murmurs, "Noo, it's once on your right, and once on the other!" Although her voice and face are gentle, her eyes are panicked.
The girl complies, and the lights get brighter once more. "So, what's this all about?" "It's the curse," the raven haired male answers. "Yeah. We went through some portal thingy, took us through the eighties, and we got this curse." the woman added. "Wow.... so, if you don't stomp your feet like that, something happens?" "Well-" a knock, three knocks at the door. The brunnette and the raven haired man look at each other, and the man goes to answer the door. "Let's go watch tv," announces the brown eyes lady, and the girl complies. They go over to sit on a small brown sofa just big enough to seat three people if they sqish in together. The girl realizes something... she has to keep her legs down to stomp just in case, instead of folding them under her, like she's used to. She leans back with a frown. Uncomfortable. "This curse is only in the house, or only on you guys, then?" "What? . . . Oh. . . usually only in the house, but mostly on us." "What's gonna happen if you don't stomp your feet in time?" the girl asks, just a little worried. "Shhh! The game's on!"
She flips on the tv to reveal a close up shot of the head of one of the players. (looks like some version of baseball, but the garb they're wearing.)
In come two people, and as they come, one sits down beside the woman.
Suddenly, a chime rings out once more, shutting off the tv. The girl stomps, and so does the woman the man doesn't make it, but apparently, that doesn't matter....
((Skipping ahead a bit))
The woman has gone into labor. I still can't believe she was pregnant- she was so skinny!
She waits anxiously outside while she hears the two unwitting maids attend to the woman and the newly being born babies.
A chime... like a gong... the girl panics and stomps her feet the wrong way, right twice, left once, then corrects herself just in time. She bangs on the doors like a mad woman, pleading to be let in.W hen they finally do...
"DID YOU STOMP!?" the girl shouts out in a normal sounding voice.
The woman smiles at her gently, then lowers and shakes her head slowly. She is still smiling.
"I didn't make it in time..."
"NO!!!"
Suddenly the girl and the woman are myself and my mother.
"MOM!" I shout out, onviously distressed
"Shh... don't cry..." she says, like nothing is going to happen.. "When!?" I can't help but ask. "MMm, I would say about midnight." "Mom, no!" I say softly, my eyes welling up and overflowing with tears. "Heeey, don't cry!" she repeates gently, then turns her face away and mutters darkly, "I would have died in three or fours years anyway."
I shake my head wildly and jump out to hug her. "I said don't cry! You've gotta take care of yourself now..." "But what about my brother and I?! How are we going to live?!" "I'll take care of it." "What about your husband?!" "He's dying too."
I look over to the very newly born, blood soaked twin boys. I glare at them, and when I speak, my voice is filled with contempt. "It's all their fault..." "No it isn't." I look back to my mom. "It isn't their fault." I hang my head in shame....
Like that. She says it so easily. I can't think of any other reasons as to why she should stay alive, except...
"Mom, please don't go..." "It's not until midnight! Don't be sad!" she says casually, with a flip of her hand. And then it hit me lik... well, a lot of things. The Note.
"Mom, I'll be right back!"
I run out, and I know what I'm searching for (and this is where it gets weird, because it connects my dreams together along with real life.)
I'm running backwards through a whole bunch of the dreams I just had, because I have to find THAT NOTE!
About early January, there was an event at school called 'Challenge Day.' Long story short, we had to write a note to someone we cared about. The theme behind writing the note was to imagine that this would be their last day on Earth, and that we were to tell them everything we wanted or thought we couldn't tell them before. I had to find that note!
I'm throwing things around in a panic while occupying a space that seems to be like my room ( I don't have a room. -_- )
Finally...
"VICTORY!" I have found it!
I rush back and encounter some who would oppose me, and others that would keep me from my goal. Apparently my love for my mom is greater than my strength and their own, because I practically knock them into the air so that I am not impeded by their presence any longer.
"MOM!" I shout. And I am a girl across the square from a couple about to leave a dark, early morning stone city. The points of view change between mine and this girls, as I run for my parents, she too runs for this couple. We both have notes to give them.
It seemed like forever, but I reach my mom, and practically throw the note at her. "HERE! READ THIS!" I shouted rather loudly, but she looked at me in confusion. "READ IT! HURRY!" I said, glancing at the clock. 11:54 PM. Only less than seven minutes to go! I look at her in a panic, and calm down at the look she has on her face as she slowly picks up the note. Gentle... so gentle.
I tear up as she says "How cute!" at the little doodles I made on the front. I smile, and the salty water overflows as she begins to read the note, and I see it from her eyes. She is looking down at the note.
".... I know I'm crazy with a camera...?" she begins, and gives me a strange look. I shrug and respond, "I am!" She shakes her head and reads on.
"I know I'm crazy with a camera, but you gotta take life as it comes, and I'm WEARIN' THIS HAT!"
Suddenly, the scene changes to one of Beastboy with a VERY strange hat, and he's doing some kind of happy hoe down beside a very uninterested Raven. She walks into a pinky room (Starfire's room?!), takes out MY note, and reads it. My mother's voice seems to be reading the note in an omniscient manner.
The scene changes quickly. Back to my mother, who is looking down at the note with a new smile on her face. This smile is almost sad, tragic in its beauty. What a smile.... Her eyes are as gentle as before, but they are filled to the brim with tears. 11:59... I run over to hug my mom, and by the time I let go, her eyes have closed for the last time, and the tears have overflowed from her eyes.
The maids look at each other semi nervously. Meanwhile, I am left to cry over my mothers dead body as she lays in bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I woke up, it was swift and dramatic. My eyes were wide, I was having trouble breathing without practically sobbing.
I shot straight up, then leaned back and nuzzled a cover with my face while I cried pitifully.
I tried to think logically... "Okay... mom is NOT dead.... I'm seventeen years old... that was just a dream..."
But aloud, the first thing I had said was 'WHAT A DAY.... it should be illegal for dreams to be that bad....>.<"
But as I nuzzled into that cover, the one thought that took precendence over all other thoughts was...
"I want my mommy...." Don't laugh. I know it seems hilarious to read it, but I couldn't help it.
"I want to hug her, and tell her I love her, and never let her go, nor for her to ever let me go. I want to cry into her stomach and wish with all my might that she should never die...." cry
As I cried fairly loudly into my covers, this was the main thought on my mind.. I finally got up to turn on the computer..
As I did, I thought, "I haven't had a dream this bad since I was eight years old... but.... 'The Stampede, Moonface- this tops them BOTH!"
i was scared, guys. When I woke up, I wondered where my mom was, and remembered that she was at work... then I thought "OMG, is she okay!??! Please don't let her get into a car crash before she gets home! gonk If she doesn't, and that doesn't kill her, I'LL kill her by glomping her and soon as she steps through that door!! gonk heart "
In case you guys haven't guessed, I love my mom to pieces. I know that as this world journeys, one day surely we will die... But I don't ever want to her to die!! And I know those thoughts are illogical, and possibly psychotic and dependant, but I love her so, so, so much!! >.<
Oi, I literally cried a waterfall as I wrote out that ending....
Great... I'm going to remember THIS one for a loooong time...
