“What?” I asked, dazed.
“One of the things I need to return to a dragon is five crystals. The crystals are red for fire, blue for water, green for earth, clear for air, and yellow for energy.” He explained.
“Energy? That not an element.” I stated.
“Energy is like a center piece for the other elements.” Maxx remarked.
“And how exactly are we going to get crystals?” I questioned.
“All five crystals are scattered throughout the world. It was pure luck that one of the crystals is at the bottom of the lake.” He said.
“How is this going to help save Eylon?” I asked.
“Eylon was taken by Torraz’s henchmen. Torraz’s castle is hidden by magic and only a dragon’s power can break through it. We need the crystals so I can become a dragon again. Does it all make sense now?” He asked. I nodded.
“How are we going to get to the bottom of the lake, much less fight off an underwater monster?” I wondered out loud.
“Hmm. I’m not too sure. I lost most of my powers when I was forced to this form. Maybe if swim deep enough…” He seemed lost in thought. I stared into the lake. The water turned very murky about nine feet down.
“Back at the school, I think there’s some kind of spell or potion or something that lets us breath underwater.” He said.
I stood up. “Let’s go, then.” I gestured for him to follow. We hastily walked to the school. When we arrived there, I asked, “Where do you think it would be?”
He shrugged and said, “Maybe it’s in a magic chemical class or something.”
That was enough for me to go on. “Try the Magical Enhancement class. They do chemical things, I believe.” He nodded and we walked to the school’s main door. From the outside, it was clear that there was some sort of meeting inside with the faculty and students.
“I wouldn’t go in there if I were you.” A voice said. I turned around in time to see a girl run toward Maxx wrap her arms around him, giving him a hug.
