*sigh* The world lost another celebrity this year that I happen to like: Ron Glass. I’m not a hyper fan about him or anything, but thinking about him makes me nostalgic for “Rugrats” (tv series and movies), “All Grown Up!” (tv series), “Firefly” (tv series), “Serenity” (movie), and “Fable 2” (video game), because he was a character for each of those things, and I love the man’s voice. It was deep, but not too deep, and it always brought to mind a wise fatherly figure. I saw that the cast of Firefly/Serenity posted things about him on Twitter via an online article. A lot of the things they said were sweet, and apparently the guy was just a great guy in general going by what they’ve said. Damn shame he’s no longer around, though as always, I’m sure his family and friends feel the impact of losing him much more than any random semi-fan such as myself ever could.
Also, I’ve been slowly playing through Fable 2 recently, and I’m on the part where I have to go rescue Garth, the character Ron Glass voiced. It’s a little weird, sad, and makes me want to dive in and go and rescue the character even more, which I might just do after I’m done writing this entry. It won’t change reality, but hearing his fantastic voice will brighten my day.
On the up side of this week, Fidel Castro also died. He was a horrible man who ran a country in a horrible fashion, leading to the death and suffering of many people. I’m glad he’s gone. He stepped down from running Cuba before his death, so I don’t think his death will affect much, unless the people use it as motivation to go rise up against the government. Cuba has a rather oppressive climate when it comes to how the average person is treated, so I’d understand if things just carried on as they have been. Fear can be a damn good motivator to keep one’s head down. Then again, that only goes so far, so I guess we’ll just wait and see what happens.
When it comes to my personal life, everything is relatively fine, as usual.
My room mate’s boss got him and everyone else turkeys for Thanksgiving, but the person he was working with didn’t help keep an eye on it while it was cooking, so it got burnt to a crisp and had to be thrown out. He was cooking it at work to keep our electricity bill a little lower. Since I don’t eat meat, I wouldn’t have helped to eat the turkey, but my room mate was looking forward to it, especially since previous places he’d worked for hadn’t been so nice and gotten him something like that for a holiday.
Also, in a few past entries I mentioned making a coloring page for a specific game community festival thingy, and I found out yesterday that the community festival didn’t get a whole lot of submissions and needs more. Since it was supposed to start today and didn’t, I’m thinking that it will be delayed somewhat. I have one thing I’ve been meaning to finish, so I could probably do that and send it in, and I had an idea for a second coloring page, so I could probably do that and send it in. I don’t know how to code and I can’t do much art, but it’d be something to help out. The only down-side is that I’d get people looking in my direction more. Since I’m still relatively new to the community, I’d prefer to not get too much attention if I can help it. They need stuff though, so it’d be better to help out than to just sit around and cross my fingers.
I do remember there being one more thing I wanted to talk about, but I can’t remember what it was, so I’ll have to end this entry here. At least this entry isn’t long like last week’s entry sweatdrop

My dad died today at 9:45 am. This is why I'm not around.
