It’s getting late and I put this off pretty much all day, so I’d best get it done before time runs out.
This week I’ve been trying to get two projects done for an anniversary of sorts for a game community I joined some time ago. They aren’t big projects or anything impressive, but I want to contribute to the event and not just use everyone else’s contributions like I have in the past before I joined the community. It’s somewhat slow going because of how tedious the work is, but I am determined to get it done on time. I’ve got about a month, maybe less to do them, so it’s plenty of time to do the things I want to do.
Next, the weather has been getting cooler, which is lovely, but when my toes and fingers feel like ice it gets annoying. For now it is the perfect temperature to curl up under my somewhat thin blanket. Even when it’s hot out the thin blanket is too much, so, yeah...
Enough stalling! Onto the main activity of the past week: searching for places to rent. Since roomy works every day except Thursday, it’s up to me to look around online to find something we could move to. I’ve got to find something before the end of the year, and it can’t be too far away from work, because I need to be able to go out and find a job. On the first day of searching I found one place that seemed perfect and contacted the person who put the listing online. He seemed nice, though he rambled quite a bit in the email and didn’t seem to know what paragraphs were going by how he typed. Then we texted some and things looked good, but then the dude texted me asking about payment. I told him that we’d have to see the property first and meet him in person. If he had said he was out of state and couldn’t meet, I would have understood, and then asked to meet someone who could talk to us and let us see the property. He hasn’t attempted any form of communication since that last text I sent him. Because of the strange behavior, we’re starting to think it was a scam and will be looking into it a little further. If it ends up being a scam, we will report it to the owner of the property (if it exists) and to the website I found the thing on. I think that’s the responsible thing to do. If it turns out not to be a scam, I’ll just assume I said something wrong and the guy just decided it wasn’t worth it to continue speaking to me.
Aside from that, I’ve been having some sort of perfectionist thing going on with Dark Cloud 2 when putting towns together, which makes it incredibly difficult to arrange buildings. And I’ve got a bit stuck in Gem Craft Labyrinth. Nothing some force of will and getting annoyed at myself won’t fix!
