and a pretty place, according to Rhoni, a girl I know from school. I think she and a handful of students from M-A went on a summer trip to Europe for some school thing. She, Anartis, and Benj know eachother from the trip. They're in my choir period. n_n
About Versailles...
That's the name of my new comic, and the name of the main character.
This comic is a fairly big deal to me for many reasons.
1) The main character has a personality (like all before her, but, yeah...)
2) She is the only character to have a birthday and birth year! O_O (I mean, Nichoel and Dannielle have birthdays, but they're based on the real Nichoel and Dannielle... myself included... but that's N.P.D...)
3) It's written in first person perspective. Another big change. I usually write as either an omnicient narrator, or the characters are talking to eachother, so you get a second person perspective on it. and...
4) This is the first comic I've written that goes in chronological order! HUGE DEAL!! It actually makes more sense and is a fairly serious comic.
This is the story of a girl that is young, but highly intelligent.. so smart that she's skipped about two grades and does well -academically speaking- where she is (ninth grade.)
She is very serious, rather dark, and her sense of humor is rather dry. She has tried to mold herself into a mature person because she has never thought of herself as special. Teasing about her physical looks when she was younger never helped with that, so she read a LOT, hoping she would gain superior intelligence. She did. sweatdrop
However, because of it, she thinks of herself as above others when it comes to intellectual thinking, and often puts people down verbally speaking-but only to defend herself. She is teased a lot because, despite her shoulder length hair, she wears baggy clothes that hide her figure and never fixes her hair, so she looks like a boy. Albeit, one with large eyes, long eyelashes, and a round face...
She's a nice person at heart, but just about everybody hates her. SHe's a very creative person, but I haven't quite decided on what great talent to give her. It's to easy for me to make her a poet, writer, singer, musician... I wanted to make her a dancer. I think eventually I decided on songwriter and dancer, but she's not very good at instruments unless she's doing it on her own (no lessons or she hates it, basically.)
So... Quoting somewhat from the comic... She recently moved to a new school. It's been two weeks. In those two weeks, she has learned that:
" 1) There is a student body of 956.
2) The old building has been around since the thirties.
3) The school actually served as a hospital during a war. supposedly during World War 2. Amazing? I thought it inappropriate. But I voiced that opinion out loud once & during my two weeks here, I made:
1 friend, 953 enemies, and 2 allies."
"How, you might ask, did I turn nearly the entire school against myself? It's an unusual story, but then, I have unusual luck. In this case, BAD luck. It started little over a week ago..."
She goes on to describe the one friend she made in her two weeks at this school.
She adds that this new friend of hers is a popular announcer for the schools Public Address announcements.
This friend invited her to come over and watch, if she wanted to. Versailles took the chance.
While Versailles was there, while Gina (the friend and announcer) was preparing, Versailles was basically voicing her rather negative opinions about the school. In addition to calling this school a 'dictatorship where the first rule is to smile and cheer for the school 24/7', she calls the students a 'gaggle of barely sentient beings whose I.Q's barely make the double digits', and calls the teachers 'a bunch of quack jobs stuck on repeat,' repeating material she's already memorized.
Well, during this rant of hers, she got really into it and slammed her hand on the desk where the P.A system button is. She basically turned the P.A system on by accident, and hadn't realized it, so she just went on, and on about how horrible the school and its people are, and everyone across the school can hear it... Gina is a well liked person, and EVERYBODY listens when she does the announcements....
Let's just say that Versailles opinions caught the ears of many this time as well. Everyone finds out who she is and shuns her. he only person that doesn't ios the popular Gina, who says she would still be her friend no matter what.
I told you, Gina's a good kid. biggrin
But this is serious. Versailles was picked on before- now it's worse. Instead of verbal abuse, she's being physically abused as well, now.
Well, it's actually about that point where things get interesting... and a little light hearted.
You see, Versailles was inspired by a number of things. It was inspired by: The Treaty of Versailles (for obvious reasons. xd ),
Wish, the manga. (or the description of the plot that my friend Claudie gave me..)
Once hearing that it was said in the bible that angels are genderless (I'll explain in a bit...)
Trying to draw a genderless angel (looked like an effeminate guy with long, pretty black hair... and nothing to pertain to a gender....really...)
And the look on Timmy Turner's face when Vicki shoots him with a dart containing a substance that made him tell the truth. (If you've ever seen the episode where he finds her diary and, at some point, makes her cheer her darkest secrets out loud.... for all to hear.)
It's a long story.... basically put, I can never help but laugh hysterically whenever I see that look.... oi, and when I IMAGINE it! XD
It's just so funny! XDD *laughs*
There are scenes.... which I'll later explain.
Basically, an angel gets assigned to Versailles. He's supposed to grant her a big wish. He's also supposed to be her guardian angel, so to speak. There's a long, complicated system that I've created regarding heaven and angels. Let's just say that Heaven is discriminatory, based on physical appearance, and that Versailles never received a guardian angel. sweatdrop
Her angel's name is Venizin. That's his Earth name. His angelic name would cause a huge controversy, but it's Gabriel. *smiles*
He's way over two thousand years old, looks about nineteen or so, but in human years, he'd be in his twenties.
The funny moments are when he first appears before Versailles, when he tries to follow her to school, and the moments after he gains a gender.
It's a long story also, but Versailles holds a sleepover party with a few friends from her old school and Gina, from the new school. She's at that age where she's into boys, even if she personally hates the fact that she could like either gender in a non-platonic manner. She's bisexual, but doesn't really know it, lol. She leans more towards guys, though.
During that sleepover, after speaking of many things, the subject eventually turnss to boys. The kind of boyfriend they would like to have, the kind of boyfriend they DO have (Gina.), and if they'll ever get married. Versailles scoffs and says she'll never get married, and the girls tease her in friendly ways, saying she'll be the first to get married and what not. Eventually, everyone nods off... except for Versailles. She stays up, leaning against her bedroom wall, and looks out the window of her room. She thinks a little more baout what she said, and says her thoughts aloud. She says she's sorry she said that, because she knows that she inwardly wishes that one day she'll have a fine husband.
Well.... Venizin was outside her door when she said this.... and he heard every word.... so he had to grant that wish.... It meant a lot of things.
It meant that he would have to become human, for one thing. For another, she had said 'husband,' so he finally gained a gender....
Now... in this story, angels have very few emotions...
Venizin is a rather stoic angel. Even his fellow guardian angels comment on his 'emotionless demeanor.'
He's never been human before, so gaining emotions and body parts and functions like nipples, a butt, and ano mono (Japanese, meaning 'that thing.' *snickers and laughs.*)
Upon learning of this wish, he walks in and looks at her for a moment. Thoughts going through his head, among a lot of other things, are ' So I'm married to her now? How do couples.... act?'
Yes, he doesn't know 'how couples act'.
He tries to think of anything, and one of his bright ideas is that couples normally sleep together. XD So he walks in, crawls under the covers, and experiences sleep for the first time.
Morning comes. Light filter in through the windows, hitting Versailles in the face. She opens her eyes and sees Venizin... his face is right in front of hers... and he's sleeping next to her. her eyes go wide. He sense that she's awakened and opens his eyes. "Morning..." he tries to think of the words that couples use on each other, and comes up with '...Sweetheart.'
Versailles screamed. She rolls out of the covers, and shivers in the morning cold. It may be in her room, but it's drafty. She gives him the third degree. "What are you doing here!? Why were you sleeping next to me?" and he says that it was her wish. She looks at him like 'I didn't wish for you to sleep next to me without my knowledge....'
So he explained about how he overheard her saying she wished she would get married. She looks at him in shock and exclaims "IN THE FAR FUTURE!"
So she goes into ANOTHER rant, and at some point mentions how he can't be married to her because he's an angel, she's human, and he's genderless. He mentions that he's not genderless anymore, and she didn't quite hear him. She does notice that he's not wearing clothes and points it out, but then looks a little further south than she intended.
Her eyes pull a Timmy Turner here. He asks "What? You look like you just drank Veritaserum by accident.'
She screams yet again. LOUDER this time. She wakes up her guests. While they're still groggy, Versailles hauls Venizin into her bathroom and tells him to stay there until he has clothes.
"But there aren;t any clothes in here!"
"Then I'll bring them!" "And what am I supposed to do until you bring them?"
"I don't know! Take a shower, read a book, but PLEASE STAY QUIET IN HERE UNTIL THE OTHERS ARE GONE!!"
And she goes off, slamming the door and plays the happy hostess, basically, until everyone leaves. There are going to be a lot of emotional, and silly-sweet moments.
I've already got a few planned... like.... Venizin needing to learn about Sexual Education through Versailles mother, because Versailles herself feels that she might die of a red face if she tries to do so herself.
She's very mature for her age, and refuses to giggle alongside her perers when they're learning Sex Ed in class. She tries to think of it in a purely scientific manner, but the idea of sex bothers her A LOT. She's rather chaste when it comes to that, and had vowed that she wouldn't have those sorts of relations until she was married. Of course, she's married now on a technicality, but she's freaked out and basically staaays the hell away from Venizin for a while.... she can barely look him in the eyes for a short time, but tries to get herself out of that. She likes Venizin a lot, but like I said, she never wanted to like anyone in a non-platonic manner, so she hates these emotions and feelings that she has for him, if any. She doesn't want to have those relations, so she tries to keep him away from her... at least in bed. XD She's twelve. She knows she's too young to handle something like that, she's not even going to kid herself. She's WAY too young and not ready to do something like that, so she tries to stay with Veinizin as a friend... but, see.... he goes out while she's at school. He walks around, mostly, and looks at how couples act. At first he's perturbed by the giddy behavior, the hugging, the kissing, the sweet talk, but he tries to talk himself into by thinking 'if this is what couples do, I have to do it for Versailles.'
But she gets scared everytime he tries to hold or kiss her. Those are the light hearted, funny moments. XD
Sorta like...
"Come here and let me massage your shoulders! You've had a rough day at school! *trying to be cheerful* "
"Uh.... no thanks, Vinny... I'm okay.*getting nervous*.."
"*appears right next to her* Aww, it's alright! Let;s just relieve the tension by *he tries to hug her while saying this, but she squeals and pulls away*"
*laughs* sort of like that! XD *laughing harder*
But she does like him in a semi non-platonic manner. She had always felt that nobody understood her before Venizin dcame along. Like he's her first real friend. I mean, he;s technically her first love, so I think it's a little appropriate that she would have strong feelings for Venizin as both her first real friend and her first love... and he can't really abandon her, since he's her husband... Let's just say that after a while, she becomes annoyed with herself because she realizes that she can associate her relationship with Venizin with 'Pieces of Me' by Ashley Simpson. XD
God... married at twelve years old... that's rough....
" *Versailles/Ray comes down the stairs in her cute little dress for the dance at school* Remind me why you're making me do this, mom?"
"Because I want to see what you look like as a girl!"-Rita, her mom.
" . . . *Veinizin is staring quietly. He's thinking 'she looks very pretty... and like a girl...*"
Vinny and Rita wave Versailles off (she;s going to the dance with Gina, and Gina's mom is driving.)
Rita sighs and says, "That was very mature of you!" Venizin responds, "Well, sometimes you've just gotta let 'em go..." Rita quirks her eyes at this and says, "Yeah, but I'm her mom. You just let your wife go to a dance. Not many husbands would let their wives do that... unless they were with them.
And Venizin responds, "Well, like I said, sometimes you've just gotta...." And stops. He realizes the stupidity behind what he's done and goes off chasing after her. XD Meanwhile, at the dance, a lot of the guys at Versailles' school have seen her get up and are like 'WOW! She's a chick! A HOT CHICK!' so they swarm all over her, and Versailles is both angry and confused, so she's clinging to Gina so to speak, and Gina is trying to make the crowd go away. She mentions Versailles popularity here. Versailles rolls her eyes and says it's pointless to come to a dance and not even dance, so she pulls Gina to the dance floor and pulls off a couple of awesome moves... some very unique and new ones... very innovative, I'll say that.... and very attractive. In storms Venizin, majorly jealous, and carries her away. She's kicking and screaming, and he has this mask of pure cool on his face, as though this was the most normal thing in the world. Let's just say that this made a big splash at the dance....
XD
Alrighty... got this off my chest, so buh bye... I think....
