Day 6: Concert
It might just have been the alcohol, or the drugs, maybe it was even a mixture of both. But that night I fell in love with you. I don’t even know who you are to be truthful, I just remember seeing you out of the corner of my eye and something inside me just clicked.
I don’t even remember what concert it was, I just remember it was loud and there were people all over the place. People were spilling drinks, dancing, falling on top of each other, and you were just standing there taking it all in.
You were with a big group of people that I think might have been your friends, you out of all of them looked so happy and relaxed. What captivated me the most was how sincere your smile was.
I’m guessing I must have made my interest in you apparently obvious, because one of your friends leaned over whispered something into your ear and you turned to look at me. Our eyes locked and my heart felt like it had stopped.
You smiled at me and I smiled back, then you started dancing. Your movements were so fluid and graceful that I felt like I was being put under a spell. I felt like everyone around us suddenly disappeared and that your dance was for me and only me. Instead of your body moving with the beat, it seems as though the music was conforming to you and obeying your every command.
After you were finished, I finally got up the nerve and said hi to you, and we talked briefly, then you left with your friends. And that was the first and last time I was ever to see you, but it didn’t matter. Now and again I wonder what you are doing, and if you’re alright.
But it doesn’t matter, the short amount of time we had together made me feel alive, and it was something that I would treasure always. People might think I’m crazy, but I honestly cannot think of a time where I felt that in love.
