Sometimes the pain is too much to bear,
So I try to cut away my despair,
Thrashing my fists into the air,
I whimper a wish, mumble a prayer.
I die a little more each day,
With such torment burning me away,
The cost of life is too much to pay,
And I wish that my debt could just be delayed.
I whistle such torture through gritted teeth,
For no one would suspect that pain lies beneath,
A flawless exterior, smile, and skin,
Haunted by darkness that lies deep within.
