My chest heaves a sigh of relief,
A breath, tepid and heavy,
I know the truth of my belief,
And won’t be swayed by any.
I’ve endured pain over the years,
And it burns me like a fire,
I do not quiver out of fear,
That it may not someday tire.
And in my heart, I find solace,
The infernos start to dissolve,
Though my mind is filled with malice,
It finally has found resolve.
And in my eyes, a garden is birthed,
One stronger, wiser than its mother, Earth.
