happy 4th, ya'll.
didn't think the parade this morning was as hot as the thermometer said it was... (then again, I had downed at least 3 bottles of water before it even started and another two and a half after it was done haha)
we all wore high heels this time instead of me usually wearing flats... I towered over everyone. ._. (of ALL the visiting royalty)
and I'm not even that tall haha.
btw, don't you think 10 years is a long time for your heart to stop every time you see someone you hardly knew?
*que frustracion y confusion*
saw The Roommate on one of the movie channels. It was a poopy movie; I was confused not 15 minutes into it, watched it for half an hour, watched something else, went back to watch the last half hour or so and it still made perfect sense.
o.o
AND it was super dark. There wasn't a single properly-lit scene in the damn thing.
but it was still spooky haha.
ended up not playing in the community band like I had intended to tonight.
1. It was waaaaay too hot to be out there blowing my lungs out and sight-reading songs I don't even like with strangers.
2. I don't even know where i was supposed to go
3. I wouldn't know anyone once i got there, so
4. If I stayed for the fireworks, I'd be alone.... and that's awkward, especially with a few hours to kill between the band and fireworks.
5. How would I get out of there alive if I stayed for their fireworks, when
6. M-town's fireworks are so much better?
ended up going out to eat with karen and the parentals for her b-day tomorrow at Perkins. It was deserted in town, because everyone was where the fireworks were (or at the lake, etc...). xD
then we drove as fast as possible to get to see M-town's fireworks. As always, we pull over on the side of the road on the outskirts of town, so we still get an awesome view, AND we are the first ones outta there once they're done.
... I've never been a fan of anything super patriotic. Songs, banners, themes, you name it. They're all tolerable in small amounts, but when patriotism throws up on something, not so much.
murgh. sleeping in a little tomorrow, then heading to Shioko's to spend the day. Full rehearsal tomorrow night, and Friday starts round 1! Root beer floats at the bank at 11 (serving them to the nursing home residents at 2), chili feed cookoff around 5-ish, and a street dance at night.
Saturday we get to go to the pancake feed and the beginning/end of the 5K, then go home and get our hair done, then come back to eat lunch with the candidates and judges. Then we have the parade, queen's banquet, coronation, and we're DONE. O.O
FOR GOOD.
(fun fact: as I was writing my farewell speech I was bawling my eyes out haha. even though we all say we're not gonna cry at the end, I'm pretty sure I will... even thinking about it I get misty-eyed.)
been reflecting on all that's happened since this time last year. I'll have an entry on it later, methinks. ^^
as for now, though: sleep.
