nomnomnom.
yay healthy eating today! read someplace if you drink 2 cups of water first thing in the morning, your organs are kick-started or something.
in any case, I haven't been super hungry all day like I was yesterday. :]
so. the fun started last night. Band concert went splendidly (compared to the winter one, anyways), afterwards karen and I found a few mason jars and did a half-test of what I've been obsessing over: CANDLES. so we shoved a bunch of tea/motif candles in 6 or 7 jars and had a chill time sitting under the crab apple tree.
then the power went out. thoroughly confused (yet able to whip out any number of flashlights and candles in a matter of 30 seconds or less after it happened), we called the power company, who reported everything should've been normal. being that it wasn't, we all got ready for bed by candlelight and stuff. it came back on around midnight.
then today I was up and at 'em by 6:30 am because i had slept downstairs all night (the only reason my bed is tolerable in the summer is a little fan that blows full blast all night. when the power's out, it can reach upwards of 100 degrees up there). one of our cats brought her 3 kittens up to the house (after weeks of fruitless searches all over the farm for them), so I promptly cleaned the doghouse out for them. karen skipped school for the morning because she had cramps (yeah right), and was working on taming them down.
so with that accomplished, i worked on finishing the attic for a little bit. the vacuum appears to have broken under the stress of cleaning such a dastardly dirty place, so I was forced to sweep instead. with that done, I moved a few more things into there, and started working in my room.
which is the most challenging part of the job.
I've gone through that stuff so many times, there's really nothing left to give or throw away; it all just needs to be sorted. :/ being the pack rat I am, I have a gazillion art supplies so be sorted (for any number of crafts: sewing, drawing, painting, scrapbooking, quilting, knitting, macrame, you name it.) and a gazillion books that need to be moved someplace other than where they are now.
gave up on that eventually, got a few calls. One pertains to a job interview I have tomorrow, the other to a job that needs to be done ASAP.
So i worked on that project for a while, panicked when I couldn't because the internet was crapping out, and decided to take a nap.
because 1. it had been a long day; and 2. naps solve the greatest problems of humankind.
when I arose from a blissfully comic dream full of bright colors and animated characters involving a mystery about how my grandma's house was exactly backwards (and Spongebob fell off the sidewalk lawl), i had my usual headache.
which brings us to now.
lately around this time of day (between 4:30 and 7-ish) I get a horrible headache that makes me want to just sit around and/or die.
blaaaaaargh.
mom wants to do some more gardening, karen's making supper. I need to find a few more pics for the remote job I'm working on, and prep for the interview tomorrow.
battery's going dead after working all day. bye, peeps.
