“Isn’t this one just adorable?”
“But look at this one!”
Six or seven girls are chattering away looking at all different manners of dolls and toys. Once they leave to examine a different part of the store the dolls rustle and move restlessly trying to get a good look at the girls that could be their future owners. Gradually as their voices move closer the dolls quickly restrain themselves and return to their motionless state.
“What about these two?” one girl coos picking up two little china dolls.
“Why aren’t they just the cutest!” Another girl says plucking one of the dolls out of the first’s hand. It looked like a little girl with deep red hair dressed in a black silk dress.
“Hey!” shouts the first as the second doll a boy with white blonde hair and robin egg blue eyes is pulled out of her grasp.
“Learn to share!” The girl complains clutching the little doll.
“How about we play with them a bit, before we buy them that is.” The eldest says.
“Oh yes lets!” All the other girls chime.
Though they try to hide it the two little dolls cheeks redden at the prospect of being taken out of the shop and to be cared for by the little girls. All the other toys hold their breath though they would have rather been chosen they know that if one toy from the shop is loved then more little girls and boys would come looking for a toy to take home with them. The girls take the two dolls to a little ring in the middle of the shop. The ring was special for in the ring they could move and talk and perform for all the children who came to the shop and convince them that they were the ones that should be taken home. The dark doll sung a song so sweet that it brought tears to the young girls eyes. While the light doll danced with such poise that the girls started to swoon it's eyes twinkiling merrilly thought the dance. At first they are enthralled with the two dolls but soon they started looking at the dolls in malice. Not one of the girls looked or sang as pretty as the dark doll, and none had such a lovely dance or such gentle eyes as the light doll.
"How disgusting!" the eldest said breaking the merry song and dance of the dolls.
"I don't know why we ever liked them in the first place!" screetched the youngest her face turning crimson in anger."
"I say we should fix them so no one is tricked into picking up the nasty things." said one of the girls turning twords the dolls.
The dolls their faces ashen white with horror backed into the far edge of the ring quivering with fright.
"Yes lets." all the girls said in unison.
All the toys in the shop closed their eyes tightly and turned away at such a revolting sight.
When the girls were finished they threw thier handiwork on a shelf and left the shop. The poor little dolls had been nearly ripped in two then sewn together the girl halfs mouth was sewn shut while the boys eyes were laced with stiching. Out of the girls throat came a silent scream while the boy cried bloody tears.
