[Bio] Jacob Charles Merlotte was born on November 22, 1994, at 10:24 at night to mother Charlotte, a college professor, and father James, also a college professor. He has a twin brother, Jace, who was born exactly 3 minutes after him. Jacob and his family lived next door to the Zanes, who had a daughter his age. Her name was Corinne. Jacob, his brother, and Corinne quickly became friends, and they never left each others' side. When Jacob was 13, his parents began to fight. From what he could overhear, money problems were involved. The fighting got so bad that Jacob's dad moved out. Jacob was sad, but he tried to look forward to things like seeing Corinne, or going to school, or eating cookies. His brother, on the other hand, became bitter and mean, and completely turned away from him, Corinne, and his family. Every now and then Jacob would sit in his bed with his knees to his chest, and cry. When he'd come out with eyes still red and puffy and wet, Jace would make fun of him and call him a crybaby. This, of course, made him want to cry even more, but he resisted the temptation. Jace bullied Jacob a lot after their dad moved out, despite the fact that Jace was technically younger. He'd always run away and hide in the forest, while Jace laughed and chased him. Eventually Corinne would hear the yelling from her house and come out to see what was going on. She would find Jacob, hug him, then tell Jace to go away. One time, Jace was being extra mean to Jacob, and pushed him to the ground. Jace stood there, ready to beat the living daylights out of Jacob when Corinne, who was running after the both of them, jumped in front of Jacob, defending him. Jace kindly asked her to move, but she shook her head. Jace asked again, but in a louder tone. She said no. This went on 2 or 3 more times until, finally, Jace simply shoved Corinne to the side. Corinne stumbled back, but caught her footing, and ran up to Jace. She slapped him. Hard. Jace just stared at Corinne, holding his cheek, confused and shocked, then ran back to the house. That was when Jacob knew he loved Corinne. When Jacob became a freshman, his parents settled their issues and his dad moved back in. All was well, except for the fact that Jace was now competing with Jacob over Corinne. Jacob is now a junior in high school, and fighting for Corinne.
