The first week was filled with helping out Dr. DLMC. XD Or, as I really remember her, Dr. Daisy Cook: She's a fascinating woman, but equally intimidating.
Then there was the drama with my stupid uncle, yet again... is this going to happen every single time on my cousin's birthday? D< Stupid guys who can't keep it in their damn pants and then expect to be forgiven when they realize their mistake... D<
Yeah, I'm pretty bitter. XD
I'm in the middle of trying to get hired, but clearly I could be trying a little harder.... since I'm still unemployed. >_<; Damn it...
I rediscovered a comic I hadn't read in quite a while. How long has it been? Well, when I left off, it was about halfway through the third issue. When I came back to it a few days ago, it was I don't know how many pages into issue nine. >_>;
I've also been reading this new comic for the past two months or so-Dream Scar. It's beautifully drawn, and for some reason the (VERY) young story calls to mind the webcomic Inhuman.
In the meantime, Questionable Content is at a bloody FANTASTIC place right now and I can't wait to see the direction in which it heads! I can say the same thing about Dominic Deegan and can hardly wait until the next story line starts up. XD ( I THINK the last one just ended this Friday... XD That, or we're going to see some interesting progression in D.D. XD ) Something Positive is trudging along... but it might be going somewhere interesting. XD
I had an interesting dream two or three nights ago... a lot of them, but one seemed to be the least bit inspired by Avatar... it seems the 'Avatar' in this case was a young girl: probably twelve or thirteen in her flashbacks, and in her mid twenties or so in the 'present' time line. She had extremely long, dark brown hair, and her clothes had long green sleeves with a yellow vest of sorts with a high collar-high enough to cover her face from the bridge of nose down to her chin. Only her eyes were visible. Her flashbacks-memories, really-were of her friendship with a boy-a young man-of about fourteen years of age with long dark brown hair that went to about his shoulder blades. It seems she had a crush on him that was never quite resolved, as the young man left the village...
The thing I remember most poignantly from their two conversations (her two specific memories, one of which took place outside the village at night, on the river banks, amongst the tall grass... I wish I knew what they were talking about at that time... they both looked so happy...) is the one she had with him in the woods. There was a tall, fern-like plant... and after some whirling action of hers, he tried to find the best way to tell her two different things at once. His way of doing this was to say:: "The Uwla plant takes many years to grow, and just as many to be destroyed."
The girl, whose voice at the time was husky and scratchy, spoke in curiosity: "Sooo...? What's your point?" Without missing a beat, he replied, "Your hair just lit one on fire." "Huh?" She looked up at the plant, where a fire ball had manifested itself directly on the splayed aspect of the fern-like Uwla plant. Her reaction was to panic. "AHH!" Finally, she flew up to it and blew out the first. When she landed, it finally occurred to her to blow out her hair. What had once reached her ankles now reached the small of her back, and though she was disappointed, her reaction caused the young man to laugh helplessly.. and his laughter raised her spirits so that she could laugh as well.
(Uwla pronounced: Ewe-luh)
