I wrote this, kind of aiming for song lyrics... What do you think?
The sky's ink black
And the moon shines gray
When the undead climb
Up from their graves
They clambered and clawed
From their deep earth beds
Lurching, limb by limb
Grotesque, half-rotted heads.
So run, run, run away
Run as far as your legs can take
Flee until the weary day
That you collapse to the decayed
Then just give up, give up and give in
Surrender yourself
The last thing you see, a skeletal grin
As you surrender to the zombie mob
Now the river runs scarlet
And the moon shines white
The wind is copper with blood

You shudder in terror
As they reach down for you
Your eyes are closed tight;

Crisscrossing lines of stitches
So gorgeous- you'd never think he ate brains!

The last thing you know as you die on his lips
Is gratitude for surrendering to the zombie mob.
