Dr. Mechaniker's Robotics Log
The details behind the doctor's workings regarding the Impending Robot Army.
Footsoldier Model

Basic infantry. As stated in the Heavy Weapons Model log, this is actually the second model, though it is the most efficient, which makes it the best standard footsoldier for the army. The FSM is the basis for most of the other models.

This one began by decreasing the bulk and heft of the original model. I added flexable armor to the midsection and the standard solar generator that came from the Energy Siphon prototype research. You can see the forearms contain red portions; these are easy access points for powering hand-held energy weapons. Having them on extremities is dangerous, of course, but if an arm gets blown off it won't be doing anything anyway, so it helped get the energy where it needed to be, quickly. (*Note: The red "barcode" that is seen on the chest of the HWM and others is the solar array for those models).

Going down; I managed a fine stabilization and balance system that compensates for the bodily movements, so I removed the heavy legs from the HWM and continued the humaniod look with the legs you see on the FSM. As you know, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, so the system simply compensates as a body would. If the arm swings outward, the body twists and the legs move the feet to stabilize the body during the firing of a weapon. Running or receiving a blow works similarly; the limbs do what must be done to keep the body upright. This, of course, was a long a drawn out test of trial and error, but in the end, the best way to decribe it is in this way: It works, and I'm not asking questions.
