"..."Land!" Methuselah commanded the wind, as a master commands her servant. She had been floating above the enchanted forest since the early break of dawn, surveying the whole place. She was on an errand given by the Queen. Rumor had spread around the fae community that there had been sightings of non-fairies in the forest. The Queen was deeply disturbed upon hearing this, and she wanted confirmation. So she sent off Methuselah to retrieve the truth. Now it was high noon, the intense heat was like tiny needles pricking Methusela's skin, and yet, she had not found any proof. So she decided to search on foot.
She landed on a ground covered by large roots of trees which had been in the forest since she didn't know when. She could only guess. Even in this time of day, with the mighty sun above, very little light seeped through, just enough to make out the things around. Methuselah started walking, her senses high alert. Birdsongs from the trees, the chirping of the crickets on the ground, the screeching of bats, and an occasional cooing of an owl...those were the only sounds she could hear. Nothing mysterious. "Perhaps it was just a rumor. I should start off to the palace now" she said to herself. Just when she was about to call the wind, she heard a lound sound not from afar, as if something huge had struck the ground, followed by a flock of panicky birds flying above her. They came from the east. "Wind, fly me east!", she called to the wind, panick arising from her chest."
