Vacation-Had to get away (and find my museum! D<) |

And I did!
The family and I went to take in the Frog Jumping Jubilee in Angel's Camp.
Those of you literary buffs reading this who are thinking "Jumping frogs? What?" can be pointed in the direction of Mark Twain, who wrote a short story about the Jumping Frogs in the area, which I believe inspired that annual contest. XD
I can't remember the total history, but I know that Mark Twain wrote a story about jumping frogs and that Angel's Camp has been hosting this contest annually for about eighty four years.
We went to go see it.
Due to our distance from the main stage, we did not get the best view and things got pretty old pretty fast-especially for my brother, who decided to go take in the booths while I sat with my mother and step dad on the grassy hill to watch the participants.
My brother came back a few minutes later with some news for ME in particular:
"Um, I think I found a shop you'll want to take a look at. O_O"
"NO WAY REALLY, WHAT-I've lost interest already. So, what is it, before I totally disregard this?"
"Seriously, just come with me."
"Why should I? D< I'm watching THIS, hello?"
"... Because I think I found a Utada Hikaru album, and it's called Blue or something."
" O_O *freezes up* ... Do you mean... ULTRA... Blue?"
"YEAH, THAT WAS IT! =D"
"... Are you ONE HUNDRED PERCENT SURE it was Utada Hikaru? D= *getting anxious*"
"YES! D< *getting frustrated* I recognized her face, okay!? D<"
"O_O DUDE, I need to check this out! *turns to mom* The last time I ever saw that album being sold in AMerica was in Japan town, where it was selling for FORTY DOLLARS. D="
My mom gives me forty dollars with which to investigate. XD
I scored Utada's Ultra Blue album for SEVENTEEN DOLLARS! >D

I was happy I didn't have to spend all of mom's money... until I started going through their DVD reportoire and found the perfect collections of Cowboy Bebop. >_>
I have to admit, the main reason I wanted to buy it was because of Jupiter Jazz 2 (Episode thirteen?). Gren (a side character who dies in the same episode, how's that for a spoiler?) is caught by Faye in the shower, where she discovers heee's... not quite as masculine as she may have thought. On (American) television, they never show his breasts or any hint of them except when he's delivering something to Vicious, and he's clothed head to toe to look like a woman (boy does it work... except that he royally sounds LIKE A GUY.).
Supposedly, his breasts WERE shown, but the episode was edited for TV. >.<;
So... XD
Yes, I basically just admitted that I wanted to buy a fifty four dollar DVD collection to see two seconds of boobs in a single episode. ^_^;
And I saw them! =D I DID! I DID SEE THE BOOBIES! XD
Oh man, it's crazy! =D
That besides, I am basically happy to have what is arguably my top favorite anime of all time in my DVD collection. What's more, it's the entire series! =D
Unfortunately, I know owe my brother about twelve dollars due to that DVD, and three dollars and seventy five cents for the rental of another.
Why? Because he's a cheap skate and we continually put tabs on each other. Nothing comes for free with either of us when we're dealing with each other-mostly because he's a spendthrift and while I don't ask for stuff terribly often-in fact, I ask very rarely for something when I'm asking!- when I DO ask, it's Tonberry-like damage to a wallet.
I'm not cheap. I'm just frugal. XD

That second DVD was because my brother and I were fighting over what DVDs to rent. He wanted Meet Dave and The Mummy (with Jet Li in it... gorgous man. I have to admit, I've never seen the man leer before. That was quite a treat. XD It also made me feel like I needed a hot shower to wash away the dirty. DX *giggle* XD He's a good actor. XD )
and I wanted to rent Quarantine.
I liked Quarantine, but it didn't scare me. I was very enthusiastic about the idea once I realized what the story was, and thought "This would have been an awesome video game! =D"
Bro later told me that it really was turned into a video game. ._.;
I haven't checked my 'source' just yet... -_-
But for now I believe him. -.-;
I haven't yet completed my homework from the therapist because I was too busy enjoying my weekend to the max. ._.;
That said...
On our final day there (Sunday), I got into a huge argument with my step dad over wanting to visit the Music Shop/Music Museum that I'd seen in Angel's camp a year or two before.
That's right, I never forgot the ********. >D
I almost didn't get to see it because Carlos was being a dickwad, but when we got back to the resort, my mother told my step dad that she was going to take me back to the area to check out the shop so that I'd stop bugging. (SCORE FOR ME! X3 >D)
He tried to begin yet another argument, and even tried to refute that I'd even said anything about it ("She should have said something earlier! D<"-Carlos
Me: " D< *beyond pissed off and flustered*"
"She DID SAY SOMETHING EARLIER! D< *annoyed*"-Mom
I moved to sit to the front, and off mama and I went. >D

I like spending quality time with mein mutti. X3
We went to the music shop (as it turns out, it really is a shop. It's got a great number of super expensive electric guitars and a few unusual acoustic guitars.).
The store proprietress was a wonderful, helpful, sweet woman with a beautiful dog with yellow blue/green eyes-strange and beautiful eyes.
Unfortunately, I really only wanted to survey and inspect to see what the whole place was about as well as check out their wares.
Heh, they had plastic sweet potato ocarinas selling for fifteen bucks. XD I was tempted to ask for one, but thought "Nah. Cheap material, and it's not the size of my last one."
Thing is, my last one was like the stunted version of the Ocarina of Time (although it was painted to look EXACTLY LIKE that Ocarina. XD) because it had half the holes (on the front, anyway.). These plastic sweet potato ocarinas looked exactly like the OoT in terms of the shape and build (eight holes on the front, who knows what on the back.).
We then looked through an antiques store that was a neighbor to the music shoppe, before driving off to take in a dollar store and discovered to my mother's delight a display of differently colored Eyeliners.
(Purple, orange... God, she bought like six of 'em, and I can't remember all of the colors! @_@)
We bought some snacks from the place, then tooth paste and I can't totally remember what else. The total came out to thirteen dollars. XD She was a very happy woman and I was happy for her. X3
I like spending time with my mom... X3
We wound up going back to the resort so she and her hubby could hang out in the pool.
I wound up going back early to try and watch my Cowboy Bebop DVDs in private, hee hee. I did NOT need my mom questioning my sexuality over wanting to see a man's boobs. @_@;
(I was doing enough of that as it was. XD)
When I saw them, I shrieked from delight and the sense of success. XD
They're so weeeiird! D= It's not like they're explicit-they're really not!
They're just THERE and inarguably FEMININE! D=
(I still thing Gren is one of the sexiest, most likeable side/temporary characters to ever grace an anime. >_> )
They wound up coming home while I was watching the DVD, so I took it out and put it back.
There are three DVDs in the box. XD
I guessed right in choosing to watch the second DVD first to find the Jupiter Jazz episodes. XD
Well... after that we watched The Mummy to the end, and, well... packed up and left, really. @_@;
(after I told Henry to return the DVDs before they'd get a late charge. XD)
Mind you, we didn't leave til the afternoon, around seven or so. @_@;
The sun was just starting to set. I fell asleep for maybe an hour in the car. We were just going into Stockton. @_@;
Crazy.
I was awake for the rest of the ride home, though, but we wound up going to Union City to dine at Denny's. XD
We were RIGHT BY THE HOUSE! DX
And I was getting pinged by a friend to go out with her and two other friends for ice cream, but we hadn't even gotten in the door! XD
By the time the dinner was over, it was close to midnight, so I officially canceled with my friend, and she understood very well why. XD
It was an awesome vacation over all, I quite enjoyed the quality time with my mom even if I hated the arguments with my brother and step father...
Yeah. Pretty cool over all. ^_^
