luna: yes, but we must be discreet. we can't let the Avatars know of our escapade. we must sneak by quietly.

selene: by the way, how does the hierarchy work? how do we explain things here?
luna: since the founding of Gaia in 2003, the hierarchy of us has always been present. here is the order:

The Avatars
And us, The Characters

selene: who is the Founder?
yukiko: we call him Lanzer. he is the one who created our world.
selene: the Admins?
himeko: they are the servants of the Founder. they maintain everything going on in Gaia. people like Cindy, Rina, and Ian are what we call Special Admins.
selene: how are they special? they just run the news and shops.
himeko: well, they are Characters like us, but they were created for the purpose of maintaining Gaia's balances. in a way, they have two jobs.
selene: okay, but how are the Avatars important?
luna: the Avatars are representations of everyone that comes into Gaia. they can range from the Founder to the Admins to even our Avatar.
selene: then why do we call our Avatar ours?
luna: that's because we are Characters. we were created for the purpose of stories, news, events, or anything else. but, as we are fictional and cannot be properly represented, we must share our Avatar between the four of us. and, because there are so many Characters, we are the lowest class.
selene: so the class system is based solely on numbers?
luna: pretty much.
selene: that's messed up!
luna: no, that is the way of things.
selene: how do you know?
luna: ...i don't.
