Sun and Surf!: A Chance for Romance? |

So, I got MR4 this weekend, and read it. Duh. But anyway, we all know how I basically destroyed Angel Experiment and School's Out-Forever without even trying, right? An hour, maybe two to read them? The fourth book has the record for shortness, at an hour, but the 5th....(I'm so dissapointed in myself) Not counting breaks, took me two and a half hours. So, here's the resident Max's report:
So, after a failed attempt from Hollywood at once again trying to rope the flock into being celebrities, Max agrees to help her mom (Dr.Martinez) and the CSM (Coalition to Stop the Madness) with their questy thing. So, many flight shows soon follow in some of the most polluted cities in the world, and the peeps are able to spread the news of greenhouse gases and goo. But then these things start showing up. They look like normal people, but have robot skeletons or something with flesh grown around them. (Kinda like how Flyboys were robot Erasers with Eraser skin stretched over them) So, skipping ahead, many fight with them follow (including Max being shot out of the sky) and they decide no more air shows and go on their merry way once again. So, back to Max being shot out of the sky...they have this safe home..right? So, she decides to go for a night flight with Fang (see where this is going?) and figures the little ones will be safe for an hour since nobody "knows" where this place is. So, her and Fang have a moment and get back to the house to figure out that mommy-dearest has been kidnapped by the same people who shot her out of the sky earlier. (It was Mr.Chu, some big company guy who wanted the flock to stop doing the air shows to support the CSM) So, they wind up teaming up with the US Navy and have to go through this whole survival test to actually get a ship/sub to go find mommy. So, this three week thing turns into a day for them (with Angel (now seven) taking out some black belt easy). So, they get stuck on a sub and sent to Hawaii. (note that while at the safe house, they went to a school for "special children" and Nudge stayed because "I want to be normal" wink
So, they're in Hawaii and hanging. Max gets more anxious everyday with her mom being kidnapped god-knows-where and the Navy's trying to figure out why the fish are either dying or being mutated by waste off shore. So, they go along on one or two of the mission, one Angel is almost killed by a big squid-thing due to her love of swimming underwater. Cue Max and Fang figuring out they can breathe underwater. Anywho! Before that whole rescue, they two have another moment (as Max is sure she's gonna die trying to save Ange). Nudge shows back up somewhere before there...don't remember. But anywho, so we find the ship that Mr.Chu is holding mother-dearest on and we enlist the help of the same squid things that nearly killed Ange on the reason that Ange explained to them that the flock is trying to help, so the squid things help to get revenge on Chu or something like that. So, they melt the galssy bubble thing they're holding mommy in and save her. Pretty much goes to epilogue from there.
Last scene: The little ones are all swimming while Fang and Max are enjoying a nice flight together. It ends with the two kissing midair, and Fang sounding so unFang-ish and sappy.
Summary: Other than the fun caused by Gazzy and Iggy mayhem, a let down. That's it. ^^
