Sora sat alone on the favorite paopu tree. The waves crashed below him and he wondered what would happen if he fell. He was home, finally, they were home. He and Riku, they had finally returned to the islands. Needless to say they had a warm welcome, really, Sora just wanted to be alone to let it all sink in. After years, they were home. As he sat on the tree, he watched the twilit sky falling into darkness. No, not darkness, night. The darkness was gone. It brought back memories, this sky. Memories that were his. A bell tolled though only he could hear it, he could see again the streets below and hear the people bustling about to get home. He heard his name being called. No, it was his name, and looked down to the phantoms below him. "Hayner... Pence..... Ollette...." Just as suddenly as the bell, everything changed into a darker world with the only light being from large TVs and an oddly heart shaped moon. He didn't even dare look back at the words he heard. "Your mind's made up?" He still stared ahead, his mind swirling more, back to a place swirling just as much. He heard himself whispering to himself, "A heart...? Its not funny. I swear its not. Because-" His hands snapped up to his face, wiping away the forming tears so he could greet the sudden arrival next to him. "Hey Riku. What's up?" A half-hearted smile appeared on Riku's face, "'What's up?' Don't you mean what's up with you? It's got to have been hours since you came out here, its already dark-" "It's not dark Riku! The light's only resting for tomorrow," Sora found himself smiling out towards the ocean and last sliver of light on the horizon, more memories. "If that's how you want to see it," Riku sighed, jumping from the tree and turning back to Sora. "If that's it I'll go tell Kairi, she hasn't stopped worrying since you left." Sora couldn't help but laugh. So like Kairi, and at the same time, it infuriated him that she cared almost too much. He couldn't understand what was going through her head. "Hurry back or I just might beat you to the party." That's right, the party... Sora had nearly forgotten. The whole town was having a party for their return in a while. Sora had told everyone hours before that he was going out for a while, Riku knew exactly where he was. Oh yeah... "Because... he makes me feel like I have a heart too." Sora finished the thought, putting a smile back on his face. He stood, made his way closer toward the land, and jumped from the tree. He ran, wondering if he could still beat Riku now.
