Goodbye Bob,
I'll miss you greatly
though I haven't seen you for over a year now
Ever since my migraines ceased last Spring
I've lost my mid-day excuses to join you
I still caught you occasionally
but I never really knew when you were scheduled
only that you were always on at the right time
Like you paired with morphine,
quite the combination after my tonsils were taken
But with them went the main reason for our time together
and I was saddened without that sickness
precious Price moments lost
only to be regained through reruns
At the end of an affordable century
You represented glorious years
when toothpaste was 69 cents, detergent was dirt cheap
and house payments weren't missed for home appliances
You could always make a Toyota look like a Ferrari
and though not much,
the prize money always seemed sweeter coming from you
Along with Plinco, the Yodeler, and that monstrous whirling wheel
Everyone was given a fair shot
from businessmen to bus drivers
because they all had to go shopping
All it took was a name and that hopeful fraise
Come On Down!
And dreams had a chance
It was all due to you
An older, overjoyed man with laugh lines stretching to ears
and a representative of anti-inflation
as well as happiness, when I needed it most
So here's to you, Bob
Thanks for playing...
