#23- Ayumi's Confusion

It was all quiet in the room. I heard the fire crackling peacefully in the fireplace. Whitey-chan was quiet in the room he had left into. I didn’t know what he was up to because the hole was too small to be able to peer into the entire room but I believed that he was asleep or perhaps resting from all the work he had done.
I continued staring at Ahisutah with surprise and disbelief. She looked back at me with a wrinkled but wise smile.
“The world of Seven Lights?” I questioned her with a dazed expression.
Ahisutah nodded patiently.
"You have been pulled through an enormous barrier that separates your world and our world called the parallel universe. Your friend with the wings there extracted you from your own world, through the parallel universe, into our world, Seven Lights. That's one of his special abilities."
I blinked at the thought of being pulled through a universe. It gave me tingles all over my body. The thought was so amazing and astonishing I could hardly imagine it really happening.
“W-why is it called the world of Seven Lights?” I continued asking, lowering my amazed voice with more of a confused tone.
Ahisutah crossed her hands on her lap and began to speak, “Before I answer that,” she said thoughtfully, “I must ask you this.”
She turned her head to glimpse at the room Whitey-chan was asleep in, then turning it back to face me once again. I gave her a questioning look and waited for her to deliver to me the question she wanted to ask.
“What is it?” I murmured softly.
“Do you know,” Ahisutah started, “what kind of being White Lights is?”
I paused and remembered White Lights was Whitey-chan’s full name. I had almost forgotten. And come to think of it, I didn’t know what Whitey-chan was, as a creature. He, himself, didn’t even remember what he was.
I shook my head to Ahisutah and mouthing the word ‘no’.
Her eyebrows rose heedfully and began to unravel my confusion.
“White Lights,” she said, as if beginning to tell a story, “is the kin of a great lord of the world of Seven Lights.”
“Is he the son of king of Seven Lights who protects me in this world?” I interrupted, curious to know.
“No,” Ahisutah replied, “He is not the son of the King of Seven Lights. He is the kin of the Lords of Seven Lights. The King merely rules over the humans that abide within this world. But the Lords, they rule the entire world of Seven Lights.”
“But what are the Lords?” I butted in again, leaning forward in my chair, not aware of being absent minded.
“Ayumi, dear, do not be hasty,” Ahisutah said without a single tone of annoyance, but a kind smile, “I will get to that very soon. Please listen.”
I nodded, biting my lip and settled back into the warm and alive chair, relaxing to listen to Ahisutah’s story.
