Lets see. First entry. God. Nothing really is on my mind right now other then how twisted life is. Maybe I'll turn this into a dream log, Geh who knows. We'll take it one step at a time.
My sisters was fun. We watched TV, which those that know me know how weird me and TV is. I don't watch it. But it was kind of fun to just, sit there and hang out doing something different. My nephew has found new ways to be odd. That boy is a strange thing.
I've been reading the Twilight series. I'm not impressed that its already going to become a movie. Its not that good really. The main character strikes me as the dreaded Mary Jane type a lot of the time. I like the good random lines that make me laugh. But thats about it. Personally I think it'd be rated a second rate book. Its not a classic, but I blame the failing society for this failure.
Its no where near as well writen as Stephen King, or even Mercedes Lackey. Terry Goodkind, these are real authors. But I see and hear of very few movies from Goodkind, and not a single one made of Lackey's. Hell I haven't even heard of a movie being made from McCaffery, and shes well known. Anne Rice has a few and her books are well written. She deserves the spotlight. Tolkien is considered a great writer and years upon years later they finally make a blockbuster film based off LotR, which is in its own right lovely.
Personally I think half the success from the Twilight series is that she writes in a teaser that catches the readers attention and the reader wants to know when and where it happens and how it got there. It stays in the back of the mind of the reader until they get to that point. Thus readers don't want to put the book down until they find out. Personally I find the style a disappointment.
Geh that was a longer rant then expected.
Speaking of movies. I'd love to see Stardust again. It was rather touchingly sweet. And they had lovely CG graphics. Subtle but lovely. And the story was a classic fairy tale setting with its own twists. I'm a sucker for fairy tales apparently. I love the classics, How dramatic they where, and how sad the originals turned out. But I love the rewrites that talk of hope and love finding its way. The story of life and love surpassing the trials. I'm a romantic sop I know.
And with this I'll close. Maybe I'll rant more later.
