#11- Memories?

I didn't know whether to just run or to stay still, hoping he wouldn't notice me. My whole body was shaking of fear. I just stood there, unable to decide. I didn't want to make eye contact with him but I couldn't help myself. A force was pulling my glace to look directly into his eyes. His eyes that didn't look away.
He sat up slowly, his wings lifting off the ground. He kept an eye on me but his look wasn't piercing or frightening. It was surprised and almost happy, although there was no smile on his face. He stared at me like he just found what he was looking for. His eyes were pure white and clear. Without the hint of shadow, I couldn't tell there were pupils in his eyes.
He opened his mouth and a sound came out, so quietly, "A...yu...mi..."
His voice was so calming and so soft. It echoed in my head. It sounded like a summer breeze, not threatening at all. But I was scared out of my mind. How did this thing know my name?
He began to stand up, looking down at his feet. The feathers on his wings twitched a little.
I backed away. He turned his face back to me, speaking again.
"Ayumi..."
I couldn't take this anymore. I had to leave this place, leave this thing. Without any further thought, I buckled all the energy I had left, turned and began to run. I ran with all my strength, hoping the boy would lose me.
I turned my head around while running to see if he was still there. He already had gotten onto his feet and was walking towards me. His pace was slow and graceful but he was moving so quickly. He looked at me with blank, unblinking eyes. Suddenly, the wings on his back spread out to both sides, expanding. Light surrounded him.
I covered my eyes but kept running. I couldn't see where I was going and didn't notice my untied shoelaces.
"Crap!" I screamed as I stepped onto a unfastened shoelace. I was sent hurling to the ground. I landed with a thud on the hard concrete street. I grimaced and cursed myself for being stupid and tried to get up.
"Ow. s**t!" I hissed. My leg was bleeding and the pain was enough to keep me from running.
I twisted my head back to see the boy. He was gone. The street was completely empty. There was silence all around me. I looked from side to side, still breathing quickly from running. I couldn't believe it. Was it all my imagination?
Then I noticed a white light behind me.
"A..yumi..." a beautiful angel-like voice whispered.
I choked on my huge gasp. My head swirled around to see the boy standing right above me, looking me in the eye. He was right there so fast and so quietly. I couldn't believe my mind. My heart was still racing.
He reached out a thin, pale white hand at me. I tried to back away but the pain in my leg was unbearable. I winced.
His hand was approaching my face. I closed my eyes, squeezing them shut.
The boy reached his index finger out and touched my forehead. His touch was warm. but gave me chills. Suddenly, my mind went wild. A swirl of images appeared in my head.
There was my father, standing in a grassy meadow. He was smiling at me. I tried to reach him but he was too tall. "Ayumi... come up to my shoulders." His soft voice echoed through my brain.
"I can't daddy," I heard my own voice, "You're too big."
"Come Ayumi." He said again, extending his arms out.
"Daddy pick me up."
My father's smile soon melted away. In less than a second, my father vanished.
I heard myself crying. Crying like when I was little.
Then, a giant wave of light flushed these images from my head. My head was bursting with light. Soon after everything was cleared away, my mind went into complete blackness.
