Everything I’ve done has been for my own benefit. That’s how I always did things, and that’s how I’ll continue to do them. Charity is a waste of my time; besides, there are always people willing to give away their own money for the good of others. Just call me selfish but I’ll never get why people do that kind of thing.
I tired of this boring life; I want something to do with my remaining days. I don’t care if I end up going to war or live a life of crime, but I’m not satisfied with just quietly living until I die. I want to see the sunset from across the sea; I want to see my accomplishments shine above the rest. I, like the heroes of old, want to be remembered for something I did, for people to speak my name for years to come.
You may think I’m being completely selfish or foolish, but it’s natural for anyone to think this way. We all want to be remembered before we’re dust. We want to become the headliner in a play or the star of a book. This is what I’ve decided.
I will survive until it’s my time to shine. I will fight in one way or another and grow to be the one everyone will remember. I will expand my talents and strengthen those that I have. This is my decision through and through.
But in order to do this I have to cast aside my past, my doubts, my bad experiences, and strive for the future ahead of me. However, I cling to the past and wish for change in what I now know was the wrong decision. But isn’t that the fate of humans, to regret and forge on?
I only wish for one thing until I can fulfill my goal; to have a family to support and be supported by. I want to be able to know the joys of children, the happiness of trust, and the faith of someone other than myself.
