Alright, so it's about my BloodClan cat, but... not really at the same time >< It's extremely short, at least compared to the others it is. Not much to it really. I'll probably post another version of this except in Harvest/Glint's POV. We'll see. I have some other ideas for some more stories. I have another death I want to do, and something about Thorn. We'll just see >< Hope you enjoy!
I slipped outside through the strange flat black thing that hung inside the larger wooden thing. Stretching on a large slab of wood, I glanced about the pretty backyard I lived in. There was a pond in the corner to the right and some pretty hedges with flowers grew up the entire length of the back fence.
It was truly pretty. The grass was always neat and trim and there were two trees, one on the side of the house, the other in the other corner of the pond that grew in the backyard. The one on the side was pretty large and flowed over the side fence and even hung over the pond.
Padding over, I went to my favorite spot. I sat down on one of the flat rocks placed by the pond and watched the golden and red fish swim about in the water. I could see my reflection in the water; a solid gray pelt of shorthair and blue-green eyes.
Ears twitching, I glanced over my shoulder as I saw my brother walk out of the house. I mewed a happy hello, but stopped, noticing that he seemed different.
“I’m leaving.” He mewed simply to me. His gray pelt was the same color as mine, but freckled softly with black.
I stared wide eyed into his own bright orange. “But why Harvest?” I cried unhappily.
He glanced away from me. “I don’t belong here. I never have. The kittypet life isn’t for me. I’m leaving. And I won’t come back. Nothing can get me to change my mind Princess, so don’t bother.” Harvest mewed curtly to me.
“But… You’ll visit, won’t you?” I mewed back, hoping.
“No.” My hopes were dashed.
“Oh.” I murmured softly.
“I’m leaving now.” He mewed, turning to the fence.
“What, now? What about mother and father? What about me? Are you not going to give us more time?”
“You tell them or else they’ll figure it out soon enough. I’m going now, don’t stop me.” He mewed again before he jumped up and disappeared over the fence.
Standing, I raced after him, but when I got on top of the fence and balanced there, he wasn’t seeable from either side. Sighing, I jumped back down and padded back to the house sadly, my tail dragging.
--
It was moons later that I saw him again. I was padding by myself back to my Twoleg nest. It was getting late and I been visiting a friend of mine for quite some time.
As I padded on, the sun sinking down below the horizon, I felt as though I were being watched. Whipping around I saw a dark outline of a cat in the shadows, bright eyes gleaming at me.
“Who are you?” I asked, quivering at the sight.
The cat padded forward and I nearly leapt with joy at the sight. “Harvest! Harvest! You came back!” I cried happily. “You told me you wouldn’t be visiting, but here you are!” I cheered some more. He was almost like his name, the Harvest moon, returning after a long time to be seen again.
He sneered at me. “I’m no longer Harvest. My name is Glint.” He mewed harshly. “And I have come for my prize.” Without another word, he lunged and knocked me down. I felt the wind rush out of my jaws as he bent down and tore my collar from off my neck. I gasped in pain as he padded away from me again, leaving as quickly as he had come.
“Mother, mother died!” I cried after my brother, one last time. “She wanted to tell you she loved you and that she was sorry she had failed you.” I watched, hope in my heart as he paused and looked over his shoulder, regarding me with cool eyes.
“Too bad that love will never be returned.” He mewed before padding off, disappearing into the shadows once again.
Heavy hearted, I watched him go and turned, padding back to my home. I knew then that wasn’t my brother. That had been some strange cat that looked like him. My brother was dead.
