So, I'm really happy right now, despite the fact I could use another two or three hours of sleep. So, as usual, mommom went yard saling and I wound up with all of The Vampire Chronicals by Anne Rice and Incubus Dreams by Laurell K. Hamilton. Sadly, I forgot what REAL vampires were like 'cause of our friends the Cullens. No offense, but there's just something so much cooler about psychic's and crazed murderers. I mean hell, I went back to write BRP and even then, that was hard. I mean, Mariya's more along the lines of Vampire Academy and CDF...but even the watered down version is hard to write now. I BLAME YOU EDWARD CULLEN!!!! So, for the moment, I'm gonna pretend Twilight isn't on my shelf, and I never read it. Maybe go back and re-read some of CDF to get my mind back on track. *nod* That's what I'll do.
So I spent alot of yesterday reading Incubus Dreams. And this is some twisted story. The main character, Anita, is a young woman who's ex is werewolf, and she's a vamp hunter. But not like she'll go out and just kill them for no reason. They have to be breaking some kind of rule that Jean-Claude, kinda like the leader of the clan that lives in her city, made. But there's like this thing called the ardeur, meaning she has to feed emotionally because of her bond to Jean-Calude, her vampire lover. But it's kind a twsited thing, like she's his servant of some kind. Then she has her BF...I more or less guess, named Micah, whose some kinda of were. Then she has Damian, her servant vampire. One last twist, there's Nathaniel...whose her pomme-de-sang, meaning her man whore for when she has to feed. Don't ask.
So, to sum up Anita for you so far: She works in the Preternatural branch of her city's police force tracking down rogue vampires for Jean-Claude. She's a low lever necromancer, who brought Damian back from the dead. On top of her needs from her bonds with all the races, she has to deal with the murders happening. All of them seem to be by a group of rogue vampires, all targeting strippers from local clubs.
So, fun. I found a song that helps with BRP though!! ^^ Here: "Falling Inside The Black"- Skillet Tonight I'm so alone This sorrow takes ahold Don't leave me here so cold (Never want to be so cold)
Your touch used to be so kind Your touch used to give me life I've waited all this time, I've wasted so much time
(chorus) Don't leave me alone Cause I barely see at all Don't leave me alone, I'm
Falling in the black Slipping through the cracks Falling to the depths can I ever go back Dreaming of the way it used to be Can you hear me Falling in the black Slipping through the cracks Falling to the depths can I ever go back Falling inside the black Falling inside falling inside the black
You were my source of strength I've traded everything That I love for this one thing (Stranded in the offering)
Don't leave me here like this Can't hear me scream from the abyss And now i wish for you my desire
Don't leave me alone Cause I barely see at all Don't leave me alone, I'm
(chorus)
Falling in the black... Slipping through the cracks...
Falling in the black Slipping through the cracks Falling to the depths can I ever go back Dreaming of the way it used to be Can you hear me Falling in the black Slipping through the cracks Falling to the depths can I ever go back Falling inside the black
Can you hear me? Falling inside the black Can you hear me? Falling inside the black Can you hear me? Falling inside Falling inside, falling inside the black
It's such a BRP one song. ^^ I highlighted the parts I thought said why. So, ther than that, this has been an Izzy report. Over and out!
Rock On, Izzy
