So, I got up and went to check my email as usual. Throwing off my routine a little, I went to the flock's blog and not facebook, and geee....I never knew how much I missed the old days of MR. Seriously. I've been calling myself "Max" for awhile, but I think I forgot why I was proud to have earned the name in the first place. So, on a whim, I felt like checking out the blog. ((that's still in favorites tab by the way)) Besides the usual prattle about what so-and-so thinks about pop culture, there really wasn't anything that caught my eye at first. Then I got to the June entries. ((haven't read it for that long)) And hell, all I have to say is Amen Fang.
He was talking about the primaries and how this election's been really historical. It was cool cause he didn't make any judgemsnts, take a side, or even say who he was rooting for. Nope, all he said, and I qoute this, is:
My own political leanings aside. And believe me, I have them. It is our job to save the world and all. What a primary it's been. And as a voice of a disenfranchised rogue bird kid I'm pleased and proud that an African American man and a woman have shown their stuff as viable candidates for the American presidency.
This country was founded by diversity and religious freedom. Or at least the idea of diversity.... So when we live up to the standards we set for ourselves, it's the kind of thing that makes you stand up and feel a sense of pride. No matter who you support in the fall.
It was like...dude. it was just a moment of awe for me. No idea why, just was. So, in light of this event, I'm seriously gonna try to not take sides so often. Im gonna try to see both sides and just glide through the middle. Sometimes, I guess, that's all you need.
So, food for thought. ^^ Rock on, Izzy
P.S. Lay off the bad puns Max, ky?
