This aftenoon, in the afternoon rush to get home, I accidently left two of the books that I needed for homework at school. I told myself that I wouldn't forget my books this year, but I ended up doing it anyway. Shame upon me, myself, and I. I also saw him today. He was looking so good in his jacket standing outside in the sunshine. When we walk down the hallway to switch classes, he always looks at me, so I wonder if he likes me. I know he probably doessn't like me the same way that I like him because the boyt in my school are just pervs and not real men who can face their emotions. I wonder why they can't, but growing up in the city of Philadelphia can really do something to the mind. I don't live in the necessairly bad part of the city, but I do live near the bad pat and my worst fear is that all that violence can carry into the part where I live. My friend told the class a story today about his brother's' friend who went to a party. He stepped on this other guy's shoes and when the party was over, the boy got shot in the head. It was so sad. Just for stepping on someone's shoes, but people will hurt other people for some of the dumbest things in the world. I don't feel totally safe when I walk out of the house every morning. This city has a new mayor, so hopefully things will turn around with him in office. Hopefully, Michael Nutter will make things safer in the city of Philly. People always talk about how nice the city is, but once you live here it's the sadest thing. You can go to Center City, Philadelphia, but go ten blocks to the left or right, and it's like what the hell happened here.
