Lying and looking
As the world faded into dust
Flooding our senses without choking

The world continued revolving
But the movement passed us by
As time stood still while we were embracing

Until they were reflected in your iris
Distant galaxies slowly died
While life renewed with each moment for us
Light continued to leave us behind
In its metabolic wake
Soon darkness too left us blind
Growing with every step we take
But I have no fear
We were merely pretending
That anything that happened here
Could cause our ways parting
